I have been a long time addict of the Civilization series. My hours in steam barely attest to this, but if I could show you how many hours I have played Civ 6 on my Nintendo Switch, you would see stronger evidence of my problem.

I wanted to like Humankind. It just feels so slow. Not like a performance issue, just the pacing of the game. I have had a lot of rounds where I just click "end turn" without doing anything. The ability to change you culture as the era changes is interesting, but it's not particularly earth shattering. I haven't noticed a change in military technology as time progresses. The outpost and city system isn't very compelling. Starting as neolithic foragers is novel, but not much happens during this initial era. I am playing what I assume is the complete game - Buying the full bundle for around $30 heavily influenced my purchase. The full game and add on content would have cost over $100 without the sale. I wouldn't buy this for full price. The "one more turn" effect just isn't there. I got bored and thought about doing something else.

This game feels like Civ 3 or 4, which I already have in my library.

Slow unit movement

This game is awesome and I hope developers keep on adding stuff to it! I personally enjoy this game over civilization VI because of map design and district building.
