Maybe its just my prefrence but i dont get the mixed reviews. I have 300+ hours combined on Xbox pass and steam and to me this game is AMAZING with how it handles Combat, Map's and pure size.

Combat is large scale and combined with the scale of the maps i feel like im actually fighting over large swaths of land other then 2-3 hex's.

Maps have ridges and up to 5~ level of high making for some intense cool mountain side battles.

And with the Map size citys are tens of tiles and actualy feel large as well as i feel like im actualy controling a world sized empire.

My only complaints are that late game tech needs to be expanded apon and there needs to be some scaling re-working. For a event in the contemperary era i should not be getting +20 science for a event when im making 50k+ a turn.

It has come great ideas, horrible UI, badly organized, details aren't well explained, bad execution. It had such potential, but whoever was designing it and whoever approved the organization of tabs and screens... they should go back to mobile games and stay there.

I was looking forward to this title, it seemed like a great alternative to Civ with a good amount of humor of how they tell the story of your civilizations advancement through the ages. However it feels and plays extremely clunky and slow and while adding some good things like great bonuses when advancing in the ages and an interesting take on battles.

The battles are fought in a zoomed in tactical view where you get to place units and strategically plan it out. This doesn't matter one bit though as the only thing that matters is sheer numbers. If you're outnumbered, it doesn't matter how strategic you are as all units have almost infinite reach so everything moves around freely anyway.
There's also almost no reason to fight in the first place (AI want to do it just because it's programmed to) since rare resources just doesn't exist. Any city can blossom independently of how it's placed, so all you really do is click "next turn" while your cities grow. You claim territories in the beginning and then everything is claimed and stays that way.

They had great ideas, but it just didn't work out.
