1. Worse performances.
2. Streamlined and simplified flow through the simple addition of a bike with a trailer attached.
Lotsa new gadgets to use or not to use dependent on how you want the experience to go.
From a bike with extra carry capacity to gloves that let you pick up chiral crystals from a distance to a cannon that shoots a payload of cargo a long distance away.
There is also a new vehicle the Roadster which is an actual dumpster fire off road but on road as per its name is a nice change of pace if you want to go faster and focus on roads
With the Roadster comes a new (and very expensive) road thru the mountains adding even better loops for efficiencies sake
Oh and theres now Chiral ramps too to make jumps across gaps with vehicles or just running
There is now a new very hard difficulty which ive noticed quite a few nice changes for the game
Drastically increases stamina loss. You will have to drink the energy drinks before starting and water on journeys now to keep up. You might even get a few Ex No1+ grenades quite reliably on long journeys from max stamina decrease over time (or damage)
Cargo damage and deterioration speed has been increased now will give a reason for items such as cargo repair spray and higher quality boots or sandalwood
Enemies do much more damage requiring smarter use of cover or a change of tactics less reliant on charging into the bullets.
Speculation here I could be wrong but i feel like i trip alot more and have to pay closer attention to my footing than i did on lower difficulties but that could just be a placebo effect
Id say the directors cut is worth it and adds enough variety to changes things up if the back to back was getting repetitive. I played DS first on ps4 and bought the director cut for steam and put another 300ish~ hours into it doing various styles of playthrough.
