This game's reviews are unfair
I've been checking some of the reviews, and the bad ones are basically:
- "EA WRC isn't Dirt Rally 2.0"
- "it doesn't look nextgen"
- "EA BAD"
- "pace notes bad"
- "servers bad"
- "anti cheat bad"

In short, all I see is skill issues and people with trash malware-ridden PCs.

This game rules and you can't convince me otherwise.

Peace

I agree, however I like all the rally games that came before this as well.
Anti Cheat is Bad and doesn t look nextgen! And pace notes are bad. Servers are bad. We want to help to fix this issues so its ok to critic a game. We love Rally Games and we want WRC to succed!

Well atleast people sharing an actual, non offensive and real opinion unlike you. All you need is a spot on the ignore and no conviction.

Literally every single part of what people complain about is legit, this game's engine cant even run foliage and treelines accordingly without shredding CPU performance or going heavily into software engine overhead, yet the imagequality is entirely ruined by DLSS, because you need those Frames that are lost due to the bad optimization this game ships with and then you cannot drive during night and rain because that blurry mess, especially under Virtual Reality, looks less crisp than a playstation 2 game.

This game has literally two upsides and thats the, in my opinion, improved driving physics that are more realistic than DR2.0, except that for whatever reason, this game still has super unrealistic stalling car engines (i.e. Audi Quattro) that have no torque during hairpin drifts and the added amount of stage detail (stones, rocks, foliage etc.) but that is all this game brings to the table.

And to make things worse, the game looks abandoned, 2.5 months without updates, like is that company expecting people to cash into a game that isnt even in a release worthy state 14 months after launch?

Would be nice to step away from outdated Dirt Rally 2.0 but with this game its better to either play previous game or none at all or just keep spending time at a high quality Gran Turismo 7 and not waste it with western products.

So i dont get whats unfair about peoples opinion. Giving this game a good review or cashing into DLC / next season stuff is like taking cash, burning it and then say: "thank you lighter, glad i purchased you".
It did take some work getting it 'tuned' to my system, but now that I've done so, I'm very happy with it and I'd spent some 700 hours on DR2.

Yes, rain in the dark is still undriveable with the lights on. I really hope they work that one out.

I'll have to disagree with the pace notes. Since I've turned off graphical turn indicators and am forced to listen to the pace notes, I've found them very good. In fact, when I've made an off it is due to not really listening.

I'm not a fan of CM at all. Definitely a KT fanboy and I love this game. Gamers today are self entitled pricks.

Not that this game is perfect but it's a great rally experience!

For me EA SPORTS™ WRC and how devs treat players is huge insult that should be punished. I purchased this game to support them as I enjoyed Dirt series and... after one of updates this "masterpiece" even don't want to turn on. One of few advantages of this game is that it has nice cars that are not available in HD era in other rally games.

250+ hours played in VR here... I agree the game is good. Have a lot to improve? Yes, of course.

When you buy a game to see it being taken away from you (yes, the anticheat cut out all the steam deck players) a few months after you’ve bought it you would be pissed off too

It's alright. I still think it feels really generic and dull after a while.

All the negatives you listed still apply though.

Is it unfair to write a negative review because EA put in a kernel-level anticheat system (UNANNOUNCED at launch) 8 months after release, ruining the game for the entire linux community without any positive effect for anyone but themselves?

I don't think so.
Game deserves a far worse rating than it has. They basically stole the game from me (I use Linux). If they had said in the beginning they would add an anti cheat that Linux cannot use, I would not have bought the game. This is fraud and sadly Steam won't stand up for us Linux users.

what's my skill issue that vr runs like turd on a relatively low res psvr2 with a 7800x3d and 4090?
Add the fact that ASUS Motherboards seem to be banned, and somehow my normally working with everything System BSOD on exiting the Game... 72% off and still a waste of money.

dirt rally 2.0 is far better
