The thing is that it used to work. Dead Space 3, for example, was not supposed to work at all for coop in Linux. Made it to 50% with a friend while on my Steam Deck.
1. Lutris
2. search for your "EA App" entry
3. at the bottom click on the arrow then "Wine-Configuration"
4. tab "Staging"
5. enable checkbox for "Hide Wine version from applications"
But that probably means EA is deliberately blocking Wine/Proton. Unfortunately, I don't know if circumventing it like that could lead to a ban.
```
Manjaro unstable aka Arch Linux
GE-Proton (Latest) from Lutris
```
This worked for me.
Nobara Linux 41
GE-Proton (Latest) from Lutris
For steam:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version.dll=n,b" %command%
or
WINEPREFIX=~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/<GAME_ID>/pfx/ winecfg
BUT
It is no longer working. I don't think any other company has pissed me off this badly. I bought all the NFS games for me and my son, and now we can't play together on a Linux PC and Steam Deck. I wish Valve would do something about it.
