Base Game vs Palace Edition vs Ultimate Edition (And Other DLC Questions)
I know EA is a trashy corporation, but the DLC model is especially incomprehensible, even for them.

1. What's the difference between the editions? From my understanding, the Palace Edition contains content that the Ultimate Edition does not (and vice versa), so you'd have to buy one, then upgrade to the other for a "complete" edition (ridiculous if true)?

2. Does the Palace Edition or Ultimate Edition contain content that cannot be unlocked through normal gameplay (i.e. shortcut/pay to win)?

3. Is the DLC even worth it, or is it just bunch of skins (not new cars) and other cosmetics?

4. Which edition/DLC is more "worth it"?

5. Is more DLC being released in the future?

The Ultimate Edition is the one that lets you unlock all the content from the previous Speed Passes/DLCs. That's 5 more unique cars. a bunch of re-skins/special editions of base game cars and all the customisation items. You have to play to unlock the stuff from the current peed pass though... (2 more unique cars)

DO NOT get the Palace Edition. It contains 4 or 5 re-skins of cars that are really not worth it, lots of clothing, some banners, maybe some cash for multiplayer which are not much. You won't be missing anything.

I cannot tell you if the DLC is worth it, but I can tell you that there is a lot of content, especially for a NFS game. And they are saying that this was the last update for this game as far as content goes..

Thanks for the info. Are you saying that the Ultimate Edition contains additional content that can't be unlocked through grinding in the Base Edition?

I'm mainly wondering if the entire point of the Ultimate Edition is pay-to-win i.e. "instant unlock of free content", or if it contains unique content that cannot be unlocked in the base game without purchasing the DLC. That's my main confusion, since many EA games have this DLC model, making the "DLC" pointless and just a time saver.

You mean that you still have to pay for the Vol. 9 Premium Speed Pass (latest one) even if buying the Ultimate Edition?

The ultimate edition contains unique content that you cannot unlock with the base game. 7 unique cars (3 Audis, 1 BMW, 1 Mustang, 1 Porsche 959, 1 Lotus Evija) + plus a ton of customisation (bodykits, rims, underglows, driving effects, licence plates etc.). It's a no brainer, if you don't own the game. It's not exactly 'pay to win', even though the Evija is the most meta car I've ever seen in a racing game, but you immediately unlock all these without having to complete any challenges for them.

Vol. 9 Premium Speed Pass is included in the Ultimate Edition but you have to play and level up to get the content of the Vol.9 speed pass. Everything else, you get immediately. Hope that helps.
