But dunno racing by yourself doesn't sound so fun they need to add at least some bots to the race
Not to mention: practice which makes you best of all. For instance, just a moment ago in free roam, I competed in S-class and every single other player got DNF'd...
S (The Hustle) : 01:55.90 > Audi R8 [304]
S (Blue Collar) : 02.01.89 > Audi R8 [288]
S (Get High Tonight) : 01.55.76 > Audi R8 [283]
i just tested it and it didnt caunt
RACING alone would be boring but 90% of the time I'm just as interested in testing a new car/build on a given track as racing. This will now allow me to quickly and easily test builds as opposed to clicking over and over and praying to GOD SOMEONE PLEASE PLAY WID ME!!! I JUST WANNA TEST MA NU BIILD! :'(
Also now that drag is a thing, I really do want the ability to easily and QUICKLY get on a track and test. Turbo or supercharger???? The excitement and rigour of it all get lost when again you have to click over and over and pray to GOD THAT THE STIPID LINKIP DOESNT START 2SECS BEFORE I START SENDING INVITES TO RACE!!!11
A final thought... given the ram nature of drivers and just the unpredictability of racing against actual players, racing solo would give a better test methodology for builds.
It's a VERY WELCOME change. I'm really happy. Just now please GOD LET MA WIFE NEED A PEE ABD WAKE UP BEGORE HER ALARM I REALLY WANNA PLAY!!!111
Those are impressive times. Mine aren't that fast. Granted I don't race the R8, but even if I did, I don't think I'd hit that fast.
Do you pay attention to lines and shortcuts as well as technique and handling of car? I think that's how I can improve my times most. I need to learn the lines.
Thanks, some 500+ hours you learn a lot. Shortcuts I use sometimes, not all the time. For me the key is to align with the sharp awareness of the driving lines and the timing. Sharp turns and using nos when needed; mostly its skills I've developed over the years (this is almost 2 years old game). You kinda drive on a "automatic" mode in a full body "in the flow" mode: you don't even think anything at all; just focused on the feeling of rush you get by beating your own best time.
And for this reason, I have grown to dislike the pvp because low skilled people often ruin your driving lines and crashing is the final nail in the coffin... especially in S-tier track On Rails where 7/8 players come full speed to the first curve turn and crash on your car or on each other... thus I prefer this new gaming mode of solo (should have come sooner tbh)
I have done all the possible variations of the cars I felt drawn towards from Ferraris to Lambos. Mostly have driven those from volumes 1-6 and then had 6 months hiatus from the game until Porche Taycan appeared, and now R8. And I have spent tens of millions if not 100+ million in cars and their parts in that time...
All in all: the secret sauce for me and my driving style (grip) is different types of tuning for the same car on a same tier. thus [number] at the end of the car name marks the top speed in km/h.
You need to have a custom car for some tracks that have more torque. I have 10 R8's on S-tier and also several for A+ tier.
Here is A+ notes I have used for quite some time, always improving my skills:
A+ AUDI [288] 549 Hp | 704 Nm GREEN
A+ AUDI [266] 634 Hp | 588 Nm GOLD
A+ AUDI [266] 603 Hp | 565 Nm YELLOW
A+ AUDI [246] 648 Hp | 757 Nm BLUE *NEW
A+ AUDI [243] 638 Hp | 808 Nm BLUE *OLD
A+ Let It Whip : 01:40.00 > Ferrari Testarossa [325] | SOMEONE 01:37.00 Testarossa
A+ The Fishhook : 02:37.08 > Audi R8 [288]
A+ Lakeshore Remix : 02:18.47 > Audi R8 [266] | SOMEONE 02:12.00 Audi R8
A+ Going uptown : 01.51.48 > Audi R8 [266]
A+ Wild Thing : 01:37.99 > Audi R8 [266]
A+ Factory Record : 01:27.48 > Audi R8 [266]
A+ Bear Witness : 01:50.50 > Audi R8 [266 GOLD]
A+ Shopping Spree : 01:30.16 > Audi R8 [243] | SOMEONE 1:28.47 Audi R8

A+ Drifter's Delight : 01:50.10 > Audi R8 [243]
A+ Trackday Special : 01.52.61 > Audi R8 [243]
By comparison, here is the full notes for S-tier. You kinda have to keep notepad open in the other monitor (since the game is still making it hard for you to know what track you're on and sometimes not giving the info at all). You need to know which car to choose (thus notes are essential):
S (Riding the L) : 01:39.00 > Porsche Taycan [262]
S (The Fishook) : 02:22.99 > Audi R8 [304]
S (The Hustle) : 01:55.90 > Audi R8 [304] | SOMEONE on Audi R8 01:52
S (Lakeshore Remix) : 02.11.53 > Audi R8 [304]
S (Rapid Transit) : 02:43.40 > Audi R8 [304] | SOMEONE 02:42
S (Smoke Show) : 02:35.00 > Audi R8 [304] | 02:43.00 Audi R8 [288] | SOMEONE 02:22.00
S (Power) : 01:28.76 > Audi R8 [288]
S (Blue Collar) : 02.01.89 > Audi R8 [288] | 02:05.78 > Audi R8 [301]
[283] >> CHANGE GRIP 95% (Pro Nitro) | [286] > [283] CHANGE TURBO TYPE AND GRIP 85% > 95%
S (Get High Tonight) : 01.55.76 > Audi R8 [283] | 01.54.96 > Audi R8 [304]
S (On Rails) : 01:25.94 > Audi R8 [283]
S (Off the Grid) : 02:42.04 > Audi R8 [283]
S (Lakeside) : 01.27.56 > Audi R8 [283] | SOMEONE 1.22 AUDI
AUDI R8 [304] : 894 Hp | 1038 Nm | 400m > 10.1
AUDI R8 [288] : 959 Hp | 1109 Nm | 400m > 9.8
AUDI R8 [283] : 1031 Hp | 1199 Nm | 400m > 9.9
This is for the bug for most cars on their handling: in free roam if you change handling, it will catapult S to S+. Need to change in carage like so:
Audi R8 [304] >> 8 Speed << 7 Speed | Induction Pro >> Elite = [288] 959 Hp | 1109 Nm | 400m > 9.8 | 95% GRIP
- Pro Nitro
- 70% GRIP OR 85% GRIP (CHANGE TO 7 SPEED SET 85% AND CHANGE BACK TO 8 SPEED)
