The game runs at slow motion in races
It runs fine in the open world but for some reason it goes slow motion in races, i tried using every single fix i can find and none of them works. I get like 40 to 50 fps on average using medium settings. Reminds me of a similar thing that also happens in NFS Rivals.

the lags could be ram/cpu but the video doesnt show any abnormal gameplay or slwodowns.

the slowdown you mean are proably cause by bottleneck https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-9300H-vs-Intel-Core-i5-7400/m744904vs3886 isnt to much change in cpu terms.

but gpu at 90% leave some room i sugget not highter then 80% average gaming so you have some sparement when the heavy scenery comes. 90% gpu loads usually gives you very quickly a gpu bottlenecking. my gpu as exsample bottlenecks at around 90-92% and stutters appear.

if you also can find someone handing you a 16gb kit of ram 4 free (from an old unused rig) that would benefit you very much. those lags i saw in this are proably cause by your ram. nfs like to have more then 8gb ram since nfs heat.

aside that i can really say why the slowdowns. i didnt saw anything unusual as said. i am sorry. there isnt much else i can say about it.

- Monitor your hardware to identify the bottleneck. This would allow us to give more targeted tips and you to adjust the relevant settings.
- Update drivers
- Close background apps (eg: browsers with many tabs open eat alot of ram)
- use fast ssds and make sure thay have some cap left for cache things

i have an i5 7400 1060 and 8gb ddr4, i installed the game on an ssd and i play on native resolution. I watched a lot of benchmarks running on lower spec pcs than mine and it runs fine so I'm curious if the issue comes from an update or something else because most benchmarks i saw were made 11 months ago

thanks for taking yur time. your spec seems fine. maybe a bit to slow CPU. on my i5-9300h, 32gb ddr4 2666MHz and a 1660 ti mobile (OCed +100 Core/+500 Memory clocks) was working fine in high-ultra settings 60 FPS stable.

one last question.. aside the FPS. can you maybe record the game´s slowdowns with a smartphone + shadowplay performance overlay and upload it on youtube to share it. i am interested in that matter. seeing the loads and when it slowdowns maybe i can see a reason for it.

Sorry i couldn't get the overlay to show in the recordings no matter what i try, but if you're wondering the CPU utilization is at 100% and the GPU is around 90% and the game is running at 50-60 fps tho i was recording it at 30 fps.

As you can see in the video the game slows down in the races and after the race it goes back to normal.

Yeah Vol 5 Criterion made it less stable and idk why but maybe it's something to do with rendering because changing upscaler or ambient occlusion kinda resets to normal speed but temporarily.

I tried capping the game to 30 fps and it seems to work, no other workaround until i upgrade my cpu i guess

Update 5.10 I still have same problem
Eclex Dec 11, 2023 @ 7:45pm
same here, it seems there was an update on Vol 5 that is supposed to increase PC performance but it only lowers the FPS to increase stability which doesn't seem to work for everyone

i have ryzen-9 5900 16 gb rtx 3060
same problem facing, frames suddenly drops from 60-70 to 5-10, how can i rectify this issue any help would be great.

I think single player is just having problems because doing a online playlists there was no slowdown at all.
Yes, its only in story mode, i cant play it. if someone moment i have that slow motion. When that present my car in online lost the speed

ah i forgot i posted this a while ago, but i since i changed my cpu to a ryzen 5 7500f and 32gb of ram the game is buttery smooth with no slow motion going on, so i believe the game is way more cpu bound than before, ram might also be the culprit since it allocates 16gb and uses 10gb in my case on ultra 1080p
RippER Mar 30, 2024 @ 6:39pm
this will happens when cpu reach 100%
try fps locking, like 60. a stable 60 fps will fix it.
worst case scenario, u can play on 30fps with no slow motion problem
