Why so much hate?
Love this game, only thing I hate is the Soundtrack, I can't understand the bad Steam Reviews :(

It has driving physics worse than Mario Kart. It's like they actually tried to make the worst handling EVER in a racing game. Also paid car drops that you simply don't get and no refunds aka a scam -- EA Play. Poor amount of content and poorly and cringy story. It's like it's made by Twitter mentals.

The game came out unfinished for 70 euros and for 4 months there really wasn't much to do in game besides grinding the same few tracks for money to buy cars. I enjoy the game too but I can understand people being disappointed when the promised "content updates" start coming after so much time has passed. :FrogPepe:

There is fun to have but there is also lots of annoyances. 69eu on launch doesn't help. Its not super rare for EA servers to give trouble to actually play the game. Drift sucks, game overall a bit to "grindy" and so on... Its like one step forward few steps back

there is still no night/day dynamic in online, cheaters can do what ever they want (drive what ever modded car they feel like), simple stuff like having control over your music playlist wasn't even mention and so on. The game itself offline with mods fixing what the devs should fix is fun and can be a blast. Online a complete waste of time.

Has nobody mentioned the horrible story progression? I just spent like 3 hours racing and only made about 50,000. There are cars that cost 250,000 excluding modifications. I would've made more but the buy-in for races gets more and more expensive as you go so if you don't get first place you lose a lot of money. It's impossible to get first because the game decided that the girl in the 350z has to be faster than you no matter how many times she crashes and comes to a dead stop, or how far back she is. It's like Mario Kart, everyone will pass you at the very last second when you're about to finish. But God forbid you redline a little bit too long or even barely tap a wall or you're not winning the race.

Something that really annoys me in this game is that I own a Mitsubishi Lancer in real life. It's automatic, N/A, and has a CVT transmission for gods sake. The Lancer EVO in this game is significantly slower than my base model lancer in real life. There's no way a lancer Evo should be struggling to get above 130mph when my N/A econobox can get up to 120 almost immediately after merging into the freeway.

The AI is terrible, this game is more like a demolition derby than an actual racing game. I just did an event that didn't explain the objective at all (takedown or takeover or something). Had to redo it a couple times just to not get last since the progression is such an annoying grind. Almost as annoying as the idiotic characters that drone on and on about completely inconsequential BS. No option to rewind so if all the AI drivers crash into each other in front or cause some cargo truck to go careening across the road, you have to take the hit an start at an arbitrary location further down the field. I'm trying to like the game, but it is making it very difficult for me.

thx for your opinions guys, I can share your opinion a bit, but I have to say, that i really enjoy this game after the latest Update 2.0. This is very good how much money you finally get per race. I hope they will add night mode online and a map expansion.

I love the game but it's because i enjoy grinding so i understand why so many people could not enjoy it the same way as i

It did not explain it the first time. It wasn't easy because I had the car setup for road racing. There are plenty of other racers that have rewind. Grid series, Dirt series, F1 series. Also, the last good NFS game was most wanted (2005)

It's certainly fated to be a very divisive title right off the bat, given the sky-high expectations. Frankly, I just wish there was a lot more freedom with relaxed game modes like with AI bots outside the career mode. Having very little but to race online with everyone driving a meta car is grating.

I gave up trying to compete online, everyone either has a low tier super car or they'll just ram you so you have no chance of catching up. You get the same payout as 1st place for losing anyway so you can honestly just sit at the starting line and get rich.

Campaign isn't the greatest but It's doable. I've had to stay on the Friday before the big event for about 10 extra days to grind enough money for a car with good enough stats to beat Justicia and her disgusting 350z. Still can't beat her though because the game decides it at the end of the day. I've had races where I spun her out at the start, watched her accelerate past every single person in a split second, and end up 5 feet Infront of my car for the entirety of the race. It's rigged for her and the Corvette girl to win most of the time which makes the progression extremely annoying especially considering that the payout for the race costs more than the reward sometimes.

thats not true at all youy get more money for finishing higher placed

1st place is in a Pista and made $15,000. I could put in maximum effort and still lose by a full minute, why do that when I could start the race and grab a sandwich and come back to $13,000 in a few minutes. I'm grabbing a beer and idling until I can afford my dream cars.

The reviews mostly came before the big update when the game was unplayable on 90% of platforms and computers. It's not that bad now beside being extremely cheesy and childish at times. Only issue for me now is a lack of content disguised as a huge grind in story mode. I refuse to go anywhere near online.

I'm also very devasted they didn't bring back the Chevrolet Cobalt in this game. I absolutely love that car.
