My 5 Cents to this Game
Hello,

The game has some annoying balance issues. First I hated it, then I started to think it was cool and now it frustrates me too often. Still fun to Play but could need som Tweaks to be more fun.

I've been playing it for a while now and the worst is:

Far too little money, cars and upgrades are very expensive later and not enough money comes in. There are a few tricks you can use to make money, but in a good game it shouldn't be necessary.

Racing in class is annoyingly unnecessary for a game like this. But the worst part is that if you get caught by the police with the wrong car, you have to drive away for ages, which is no fun. To a certain extent you can avoid this by planning, for example doing the events with low classes first so that you can then get away with the good car. But it's annoying.

The AI is buggy. It happens that the police suddenly spawns out of nowhere in front of you (I experienced this once on purpose). It happens that the AI sees you even though it drives under you (rarely, but happens).

In races, it is often the case that once the AI is ahead, it often becomes so fast that it is difficult to catch up. My approach is to get a quick start and get a lead, then suddenly they're slower. But "teleport" to you after an accident or drive very fast and are 400m away Suddenly in a thrust in your rear. That can also be very annoying.

Once you're in Heat 5, it's very difficult to even get into a hiding place after escaping because the police cover the area so extensively that you're often tracked down again in escape mode (blue), which stretches the escape too much. For me, that changes that part of the game from exciting and challenging to annoying.

You can't use every car that has a high level. There are some cars that are not competitive against the AI despite the high level and since money is very difficult to earn you can't really experiment.

The handling, drift too unstable and grip too understeer. You can compensate for that with practice, but it takes the flow out. Still, it's fun to drive, but could be awesome with a few tweaks here and there.

You can switch off the music, you can choose the Carnoflage effects for the effects that don't bother you as much as the rest and you can ignore the story. Although I find some dialogues funny, like Ridel who discovers social media and then becomes addicted. So it's not that bad. NFS Story was always trashy.

Yea the balancing is pretty bad. There's mods that increase the payouts, you can try using them if you're on PC.

Cars have a lot of hidden stats like weight, drag and downforce that affect handling. Honestly it's very trial and error except you don't have the money to unless you use a mod or CheatEngine.

I hate Heat 5 too. I try to avoid Heat 5 nights unless the last event is a Takeover and I can just sprint home using the Undercover Cop passive. If I really have to, like for Heat 5 deliveries, I try to jump off a mountain or run to the freeway and lose them in traffic. Once you're blue with the Escaping bar you can try going offroad and turning the car off.

I found the Frosty Mod Manager 1.0.7 which needs to be fixed I need to replace the FrostyModSupport.dll file. A player gave me the tip, but I have no idea where to get the file.

If the game were better balanced, I could have saved a lot of time and effort by looking for a mod and could play vanilla.^^

You mean i should download the ModManager and this one have the fixed support.dll inside it?

I don't know where you got the Mod Manager from, but inside the mod manager folder there's a file called FrostyModSupport.dll. You need to download the updated one from Discord and replace it.

Thx, i did that but it dont helps i get a failure message...

i do agree on a lot of the balancing stuff, they have some right ideas but the implementations leave a bit to be desired

the low payouts for some part i actually like, especially at the start they give a proper sense of progression since you can't just jump to supercars immediately and have to work for a good car, but i do think the visual customisation should be cheaper to compensate

towards the end of the game though, money becomes less of an issue, and the low payouts become more of a chore than a progression thing since you're already at the endgame, making it tedious to just build cars for fun etc.

i've also noticed that the AI tends to get away a bit too easily if you make even one mistake, partly due to how short the races often are, and i think some rubberbanding to slow them down if they're too far ahead could be in order

fully agreed on the heat 5 cops too, the actual chase is fun, but during cooldown the cops are way too common, and it's too easy to get noticed, and just sitting under a bridge to not get spotted is not fun, it's just annoying

drifting is a lot more stable if you don't tune the car for full drift, but i agree that grip is way too understeery, even with the grip turn burst NOS drift is often noticeably faster

Argh that's my fault, I linked a DLL for the previous version. As it turns out, it doesn't work with 1.0.7, which isn't being maintained anymore.

So I'm being very naughty and contributing to spaghetti versioning, but I ported the fix to 1.0.7 since it's the only version that works with Unbound. Get the DLL here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1olO_RSYHBkRQUwRtjYBNdz2YbRct8dKM?usp=sharing

Thank you, now i can start the Mod Manager but the Mod Manager dont launches the Game.

I think its atm impossible to make Manager working. But thx for all your help.

Thanks, but the Mod Manager starts and after a second of loading time it stops. The Frosty menu doesn't even open. I started it as admin.
