Why is this game so hard?

I play video games for decades and racing game as well, I rarely place under 1st place but I find this game extremely hard on normal difficulty.
I just do not get the drifting system. And the AI is super aggressive.
I even placed last 8th place on some race. WTF? Is it supposed to be this hard?
Yeah I get it that I need to hit brakes and then on the right time hit nitros to do turns but still the AI just cheats.

And why do I have a restart limit? How is this a difficulty thing? Just let me restart hundreds of time if I have to learn the game, but let me do it, why limit me for 4 restarts?
How am I supposed to learn to play if I have restart limits?

Playing on PS5. Just wasted 70 dollars and ofcourse I cannot refund.

so im going to respond to your post....1)this game you are not meant to place first every race,,i guess it was to make the babies community that has the mentality of no one is a loser we are all winner's here! i think it was a stab at them but i could be wrong. second if you cant do the drifting part keep at it do not use the hand brake system i dont and i drift really good. 2)you can use N.O.S and the AI will pass you like your sitting still. according to EA as long as you are making money than you are not losing...so use the side bet system all the time and DRAFT. the AI was dumbed -down so i dont think you are laying on easy. there is no way you can sit there and state that this AI is hard af when they have been dumbed down cuz of the babies that complained when rivals was out, not only that but how are these police hard when they have been dumbed down and you want to state that you have played other racing games in the past? what Forza?, GTA? forza has no police in that game at all but like i had stated the police in unbound has been dumbed down so how do you find them hard? i run circles around them all day long!!

idk, the first half of the game , my biggest problem was the police chasing.

At the point in the game where you get your own A+ car and maxed it to the limit in A+, the Police got way easier.

The races against the AI wasnt that hard. You got only 1 or 2 AI drivers who was a challange in every tier.

The Key is not to drift at all. Play with Grip setu ups not with drift, Drifting is so much slower in the game instead of driving with grip and those races lines.

Also in Multiplayer this is the reason people cant compete most of the games, because they think drifting ist a propper way of racing ....

Some cars are better in some tiers, if you figure out wich cars are good, you will be able to become first after the start. Here and there is the rubber banding but its not that broken. The AI cant handle some curves and will crash eversy single time in those corners.

I win most of the races against the ai and in multiplayer also finish 1st in rough 90% of the races.

Just because people try to ram you or others or they drift. Both cost you time and will slow you down.

It's honestly not that bad. In the beginning, it's hard, and yeah, you won't win first place, even the game tells you first place isn't all that matters. What matters is taking home some money. If you have an issue, use easy mode, and problem solved, you will get more than four restarts. Yeah, I have lost an entire day due to getting busted, but it gives the game a challenge. I have gotten used to being chased by 5-star police, and it is just learning how to get away and using your aux parts to your advantage.

Do yourself a favour and drop the difficulty down to casual or whatever they call it. You can always bump it up again but even on "easy" some races are still hard as hell, just because the traffic and AI mess with you so much.

But the truth is the beginning of a game will always be benefactor wether or not a game is played.
just like with a book the first few pages will determine wether it's read or not
that's one of the reasons this game kinda died on steam as far as I know

the game is not hard. The game is balanced so you can't win first place on the first few races. That's probably one of the few arcade games I seen doing that.

Nah it's not all that hard but the problem is there's a couple of small ♥♥♥♥ mechanics that add up and if I hear correctly some like the driving is only in the first hour or 2, but that's the big problem if people don't like what they see and feel in the first hour and half they most likely will refund due to the 2 hour play time refund policy

thats fine, they can go play their forza which is arcade heaven, forza doesnt even have cops wonder how can anyone like that game

ok i joke forza is fun as a theme park game, but the thrill of challenge just isnt there like you had on forza 1

Honestly, this game wasn't that hard to beat on the highest difficulty.

High Stakes was a lot harder.

From what I've seen and tested via cheating in story mode, there is a lot of rubberbanding in this game. I specifically say story mode, because I do not use said cheating in Online play and am very serious about not cheating in Online games.

So basically I used unlimited nos AND drained the AI's nos. Care to guess what the AI did? Yea, the AI still stayed glued to my bumper, despite me not crashing and keeping my finger planted on the nos button. Keep in mind that I was running these test races at relaxed difficulty, where the content is supposedly easier.

So essentially, too much rubberbanding is the issue.
