Why is this game so hard?
I play video games for decades and racing game as well, I rarely place under 1st place but I find this game extremely hard on normal difficulty.
I just do not get the drifting system. And the AI is super aggressive.
I even placed last 8th place on some race. WTF? Is it supposed to be this hard?
Yeah I get it that I need to hit brakes and then on the right time hit nitros to do turns but still the AI just cheats.

And why do I have a restart limit? How is this a difficulty thing? Just let me restart hundreds of time if I have to learn the game, but let me do it, why limit me for 4 restarts?
How am I supposed to learn to play if I have restart limits?

Playing on PS5. Just wasted 70 dollars and ofcourse I cannot refund.

I know it can be frustrating. I feel your pain. I am in the top 3% Forza Horizon 5 players out of 24.000.000 players. Going from that experience to finishing 3rd or 4th consistently in most races in Unbound took some getting used to ;).
I was a top 1000 The Crew player and was a top 1% FH3 /4 player. 5 was to similar and never played it seriously. I was wondering how other decent drivers (from other games) do here. Feels very bad to finished anything but first.

🤣

thing is, it's not difficult. it's luck based. Forza is difficult. this is not, the hanbdling is so poor and laggy that it's purely luck.
That attitude man... Sounds like youre just bad.

You can turn off brake to drift, pick an AWD car, set the steering to twitchy and move the slider to grip. If you still cant win its definitely a skill problem

He doesn't even understand the mechanics of driving but claims he's the highest rated Forza player in the world, even though there's no Forza ranking system :tgrin:

there are no mechanics in need for speed. it's a very poorly made mario kart. nobody plays nfs comptetive because it's a garbage game. and also nobody plays mario kart competitive for the same reasons, it's luck based, not skill based.

Then why can I win and you cant?

The game is surprisingly frustrating in the first few hours. Felt pretty bad myself for not winning or barely making it 3rd. Partly due to the "git gud" handling. After 3 hours and a couple car upgrades it defo starts to feel better. Just gotta practice. I honestly like how challenging it is, compared to the "on-rails" driving model of FH5. It's not realistic but it has a learning curve that i welcome. Makes every penny feel like hard earned money. Adds to the immersion. But i get that the initial slap in the face scares ppl off, thinking the whole game would be like that. Just keep going, gets better.

idk why he can't win. Seems he wanted us to suck on his tiny pecker. Claiming top 1000 in The Crew lol the crew out of all games. Sad man wants attention :steamsad::steamsalty:

My guess is that the restart limit is due to the betting system. What point is a risk vs reward betting system if you can simply keep restarting until you beat that opponent. It removes the risk.

I have barely won any races but with two days left until the first qualifier I have my car at max rating for an A class car and only need 2K to have my entrance fee for the qualifier.

I'll admit other racing games, even NFS Heat, has conditioned players to believe that they should always come in first.
Ice_Tea_Zero Nov 30, 2022 @ 7:45pm
The game is so hard because just like with real racing, you aren't supposed to win every race right from the start and have to upgrade your car and climb up the ladder like every Formula One racer.

Try tuning the car. For racing you want to increase the down force, for drifting you want to minimize the downforce.

Once I bought my first car I found it difficult to win consistently and had to settle for 2nd or 3rd for a little while. After a little time understanding the games physics and upgrading my car to the top of B class (and each class beyond) it's not been too bad if i'm honest.

Why would I or anyone play a game as boring as iracing. I'd rather watch paint dry. IRL > Arcade > nerdy sim. I mean I hate to say it, but iracing is not sim. drive a car irl on a track and youll understand.

after that the driving physics are still absolute trash. just like nfs 2015, payback and heat. but somehow even worse now.
heat is better, and the others are indeed worse. but I kinda hate brake to drift anyways. or well im just a bit fed up with it now and it just looks so silly, I prefer stuff like carbon or mw 2005.
