Story Progression and A.I. rubber banding is really ruff
After putting in 8 hours so far with this game the overall progression and npc racer are really ruff so far and sometimes not fun. First on the list progression now I get for each story point they want us to save up certain amount of cash in order to enter the next story point alright. But the way how the bet system works makes it a outright chore because on top of making sure you have the money in order to enter the next story point you also have to fit in either upgrading your car to a certain tier or buying a new one at a higher tier so your going be spending more time trying to balance your wallet.

Which brings me to my second point A.I. rubber banding in this game is way to over tuned I have been race where I get a good lead over the other cars just for them to magically get a double dose of nitro-us now they are my breathing down my neck again after I already dust them 2 miles back. The other case of this is that npc racer don't make any mistakes they are perfect drivers they will always take short cuts and even when they take corners they barely lose any momentum or they get sudden burst of speed forget about trying to take first. With how the A.I. is tune and every activity is in your pocket upgrading and customize your ride is not fun at and more of a hassle.

After going through this I like how Heat did it progression system you race in the day to build up your cash to upgrade and custom your car while at night you you built your reputation in order to get access to more cars and car upgrades, unbound has to many hands in your pocket for your to enjoy upgrading your car customizing it. Another side note I also thought it was dumb that give a certain amount of retry for activities I have never seen no other games do this but for some reason the devs thought it was smart to do this.

What happens if you don't have the requirements at the end of the week?

My strong guess is that the game will reset the week if don't hit the cap. I just clear the first one and I have to begin the cycle again of saving up my cash for the second story cap.

I don't mind the buy-in mechanism for a race, but the side bet on racers thing is definitely pointless becuz of the rubberbanding even among the bot racers themselves. There're way too much gambling here even by casual arcade racing game standard.

Also can anyone confirm if the same 'week' can be repeated for grinding or not?

I did not have the 20k needed by the end of the first week, and it just gave me the option to replay Friday specifically (the day before the qualifier). So I would guess you could just continue to spend money and as long as you're under 20k, you could theoretically grind week 1 for as long as you wanted.

Also, to add to this feedback, I have had almost the opposite experience of OP. I've just been upgrading the civic and have been able to win every race on the hardest difficulty, even winning some of the circuit and endurance races by 15 seconds. The only thing I don't like about the game so far is the drifting, but drifting has always been ♥♥♥♥ in NFS because physics. I'm just glad they allow you to turn off brake/throttle to drift in the tuning, seems to help. The cars can still have a mind of their own though.

This game is basically the mobile game, Asphalt 9. Not worth an entry fee.

I haven't looked too much into what kinda events each day of the week offer yet, so is there something we can or can't do if we're to repeat 'Friday' only?

I'm keeping drift on brake tap and disabling drift on throttle tap cuz it certainly soaks up enough time to just get accustomed to one of the control scheme. The annoying thing however is that we have to set the scheme for every new car we own.

there is no way you winning every race at the start. when i got to the part i get to buy my first actual car in the story i also bought the civic but that was all the money i had at that point, i am now racing with the stock civic and it is absolutely impossible to place anywhere near top 3 every car is just so much faster than me on the straights

i now have to grind races with $200-$500 prize money each to slowly upgrade my civic so i can even begin to start competing with top 3

Like I understand the buy in mechanic racers put their money together for the winning pot. But with the gambling bets on side on top of upgrading your car so that you can try to place first in the races to maximum your winning and then on top of that make sure you meet the deadline before the end of the week, like I said earlier to many hands in your pockets, I would not mind grinding out the cash if we did not have certain amount days to do it. Like if we hit the cap let us trigger the event when ever when we feel ready to do so instead of trying rush into it.

YEES, this is it. the handling is exactly like asphalt 9. I remember now, pathetic.
My experience directly mirrors yours, OP. Impossible to beat other racers since their cars are just too much faster, really awful rubberbanding, etc.
