Confused with singleplayer and multiplayer?

Hey All,

So I just fired up singleplayer as a test and then decided to go online, which then it says to make another character and completely reset, like okay...

So I do that, load and start fresh and then notice some unlocks state "You must complete the Single Player for this" which I am finding STUPID.

Anyone else?

I am not playing single player and then going multiplayer to start fresh when I want to play multiplayer so I guess stay in online and not get those unlocks?

SP and MP are separate games.

MP and SP are separate. So just do MP if that is what you want to do.

What are you seeing that says "you must complete the single player for this"?

I saw there were about 13 custom cars that require you to progress in the story. Which, I assume they mean the SP story. But other than that I haven't see any SP requirement for the online mode. Granted I don't care about the tags or silly things like that.

Do you know what the custom cars are?

Also I joined multiplayer but was unable to get a match, even though 16 people where in a lobby so how else can we earn money if no one is joining events online?

All this while waiting for Test Driving Unlimited Solar Crown :)
