How much content in online is locked behind the awful single player?

The single player is so bad and unfun, i'd rather just skip it. Is a lot of cars / content lost for online?

I haven't touched the SP at all. The online seems to be a totally different mode where you unlock cars, and parts by playing online.

None of the restrictions I have seen so far mentioned anything about single player. I'll go back to the shop quick and see, but I have a feeling they are not related.

thanks, i read about it on their blog, so i dunno how much is restricted,. i just cant play this awful single player mode. it enrages me, not a single ounce of fun is there to be had.

i see there are 13 custom cars linked to the story. But I think all of these have a stock version too. I checked some, but not all.

It seems like all the stock cars are available from MP progress.

I saw some people play the SP yesterday and I decided against playing it, if possible. It seems it is possible to skip it.

The online is a bit barren right now, but at least it is free from the really terrible dialog and overall story presentation.

As far as I've read, you can unlock things for the MP via the Sp. decals, etc.

the ai cheats in sp, the cops are really annoying,. you're not free and all this betting is just making it frustrating. REALLY dislike the progression in sp. Gone are the days of simple, start low and work your way up by racing. No we need 6500systems now.

requested a refund anyway, even online is trash. it's the cars handlingh, it's so garbage. it's not fun anymore to see everyone crash into everything every corner, it's just sad,. i cannot stress enough just how bad this game is.
