How to turn off the cartoonish effects?

I hate these things popping up and cluttering my screen. Various sites are saying they can be easily turned off. How?

I don't think they can, I looked in options and nothing there, car customisation and car effects had no option either.

Nope couldn't find anything to switch the crayola cr4p off either, it's probably the best way for me to say bye NFS lol i don't mind, i have all the other NFS's and the Forza game to continue with, depressed overall. I really do think the direction they've attempted with this, is really going to hit them in the head.

its not possible, even if you can removed all the effect on your own car, you would still see it on other car, instead of just an option that let you toggle effect off globally

Just found out. The tags can be switched off. The smoke doesn't. But you can choose something very subtle. This can be set in the menu where you can tune your car

But this only affects your own car, as FATE already written

closest I found was grey smoke, I really hate this because I was told I could turn it all off, I dont mind the smoke to much, but the wings are just cringe. even if they had gone full cartoon it should be something you can turn off. I wouldve been fine with the smoke the way it is if the game was cell shaded.

Но тут мало того, что бородатые бабы, так ещё и мультяшные бородатые бабы, говноэффекты прикрученные поверх готовой игры. Если бы была возможность эту порнографию отключить, то возможно у игры был бы шанс на жизнь. Нормальный человек вряд ли это терпеть будет

With so many posts about this online EA should see what a horrible idea it was. The horrible cartoon effects are why NSF Heat was the last NSF title I bought. It works great for a funky game about graffiti, not for Need for Speed.
