So I never received the map piece in the prison hallway and now I can't click the box where the guide says it is. It is not in my inventory and I can't move forward.

I tried twice now, and i'm stuck the same place, the hint says i need a pair of pliers, and the guide says I need thongs.. there are no pliers or thongs at the prison map, and the pliers I did have at one point well i used them to progress. So?!...
