A different ending?

I have watched some people play this and they seem to always get killed by some big fish or something at the end. Is there a way to get all the pictures you need WITHOUT dying?

I actually found it quite relieving that the game was like "you did well, the dread is over, here's monstar"
But I'll go back and see what happens if you don't leave that one for last.

Edit: Or I won't. I thought last save was before the nihth photo. I'd have to replay the game to find out.

So... the game automatically ends if you approach the top right spot, even if you have not visited all the others yet? I'm playing it again, I like it too much, but I want to know before I try a different route.

No it's possible to photograph that spot if you do them out of order. The end depends on number of nodes photographed.

There's a similar object there as in the location to the south of it (the box/log/coffin type thing on the ground).

Sadly it seems that going there first sort of changes the order of things. You get THE EVENT sooner with 2 or 3 spots remaining and the tension gets lost once you realize the blood seems to stop rising or drastically slow down.

I wish it always happened when there's exactly one left.

Based on the ending's "but somewhere in the void, there must be hope..." I assumed there would be secrets in the fuzzy areas on the map, or in the either of the open areas in the top right quadrant.

Not going to lie- I'd considered parking myself near the weird (benign?) ripple that ports you, and just see if letting my air run out would do something. So, I'm a little glad i decided otherwise, lmao >> -

It seems you photographed the north-east node. If you did, may I ask you a question? I photographed that node too, and found the same "necropolis" of the south-east node, plus some giant leeches feeding on the wall . Did you see anything else? Did I miss something interesting down there? I'm asking because that node is a bit difficult to reach, so I prefer leaving it as the last one, I'm not re-visiting it unless I'm missing something important.
