How do I know if a picture is saved?

So I've seen people have issues w/ the graph coordinates (took me a second to realize 0 was north, no idea why I thought it was west like on a protractor), but I haven't seen anyone with this issue:

I got to the first anomaly, which looks like a pile of weird rocks, and wiggled around it taking pictures. I rotated about to make sure there wasn't anything else of note, so I've made sure I'm looking at it with angle 33 and am right on the (222, 186) coords or w/e.

The briefing says only the correct pictures are saved, but how do I know if I got the right one? I don't want to move on and then have to go all the way back.

this might be the world's dumbest question, there's every chance I missed something, but I don't want to blindly google and see spoilers since I have 0 idea what actually happens and want to keep it that way.

I think I had been taking it from too close and did not get everything within frame. I moved back a bit and it registered. Thank you!
