Save when and where you want?

I'd like to know if you can save when and where you want, like you could in all the previous Dragon Age games. I haven't seen anything written up about that, so hopefully someone here knows the answer.

Hopefully yes, but it looks so checkpoint based from the gameplay trailer. So maybe not on main quests but hopefully if you are just exploring you can save anywhere or there will be a mod for that

Let's hope they allow players to save the same way you did in previous Dragon Age games, and that they don't pull a stunt of not allowing saving during main quests (like they did in Mass Effect Andromeda).
