its mid not bad not good, just mid...
is exactly the kind of case where it would have been better if it hadn't existed
I would like to try it and see how it is. I have not purchased it yet, and am waiting on a deep discount sale. I may have to wait for summer or xmas sale this year.

NOTE: I do unbiased reviews. Feel free to view my 300+ reviews on my profile page if you want to.

It's not even close of Dragon Age 1, 2 and 3, sadly

To say that I'm disappointed would be an understatement :sad_seagull:

It will probably be the last Dragon Age game ... or rather the last game to use the Dragon Age title. And for good reason.

Honestly, I'd pay money if they remastered all Dragon Age series with this combat system in mind, allowing us to carry over saves as well like they did for Mass Effect.

I am sick and bored to death with "skill mash" and auto attack based "ArrPeeGees" and this is a fun change. Must be a skill issue to those who moan "its too fast :(" while they run back to World of Warcraft.

It makes me wonder how much they spend in bot reviews for these AAAwful games.
Some of the positives have less than 2 games with one being this one lmao.
I'm enjoying my playthrough pretty significantly so far. And, to be honest, it's been one of the best gaming experiences I've had recently. The writing is passable to good, and the exploration-factor on offer in the game is a highlight for me. Also, the fast-paced combat is REALLY good as well.

The game looks quite terrible from what I've seen. Not something I'd ever buy. And I'm a huge RPG fan. This game just looks creatively and artistically bankrupt, with a helping of abysmal writing on top.
Enjoyed it at first.
Then got a bit bored.

Writing is very safe and weak and the stakes never really feel that high. There is no sense of urgency.

Better than inquisition and the combat is the best in the series.

The thing is it is also not as terrible as some on steam would try and have you believe. It's a decent enough adventure game with light RPG mechanics.

The one thing everyone is right about is that it's a solid 7/10 game and it should have been a 10/10

The exploration is really bland as well though. I felt like it was good at first but then you realise its paint by numbers.

Oh look, a passage way off from my goal. Lets see. Oh yes something to pick up. Oh look, another path away from my goal and something to pick up. I never felt like it went beyond repeating that over and over to the point where it lost the element of surprise because you are just looking for resources to pick up off the main path.

For me specifically with Dragon Age it is disappointment and overall hurts the entire gaming industry. Huge project, large budget, many years invested in it, and all that amounted to a subpar end product and a huge financial loss. Those kinds of projects when they deliver they are amazing. With big failure after failure and people being laid off left and right think the next company up to attempt a project on this scale may be less likely to do one.
They're good, because they are making me saving money I would, otherwise, spend on upgrading my PC, if they were worth playing.
