I was wondering this too, I think it has something to do with Solas since he used them to get around. Maybe he had them hidden and people found them. I recall a piece of dialog with the warden's story where they said they found one.

I don’t think the writers really care about these kinds of details. They seem focused more on vibes and feels in this game, not maintaining logical consistency.
I especially “liked” when you go to Treviso for the first time, you don’t arrive where the Eluvian is. You arrive in the middle of town, just so you can meet a contact who will take back to where the Eluvian is as though you’ve never been there.
An ancient, powerful, and quite dangerous elven artifact, and this casino just has one built into the wall of some side stairs leading to the roof.

You gotta suspend disbelief. You know like how we're shooting up all the huge blight testicles everywhere, running through the muck, and somehow... don't get blighted ourselves. I mean, we're absolutely covered with the stuff.

It’s the Resident Evil problem. Your character gets bit by zombies left, right and center during gameplay but is never infected.
I’d be more forgiving of Veilguard’s sloppy writing if it was a series staple, but the Eluvians being everywhere and unremarkable seems like a detail previous Dragon Age games would have justified somehow.

There is some dialog from Bellera, saying ruins and such, pop out of thin air, after the Solas ritual. So its possible all those where just mirrors, till the ritual hit and activated them. But thats more us adding details, the writers didnt.

It's like how the lyrium dagger is this general-purpose MacGuffin that lets you activate things only certain companions have access to, so that you can use them without having to swap party members. How does that work in the lore? Unimportant.
Or how Rogue and Warrior Rook have combat abilities that are getting into Dragon Ball Z levels of magical. Why can my "non-magical" warrior Rook drop giant flaming swords from the sky in combat but that never comes up in dialogue? Don't worry about it. : p
wat if red lyrium dagger and the real lyrium dagger is symbolism for somethig

I like how you're going through these poor sections of the town. Folks panhandling and right next to them is a bag of gold for you to pick up. There are bags of gold everywhere.

Hah! True. Blue is good, red is "angry and corrupted".. I can see them going for that kind of symbolism.

Must have sucked for them, seing that the majority of the US turned red in recent days :D
I mean it didn't. 10 million less people turned out to vote and congressional races went blue in many places even over turning some areas. But turnout was lower which is rare for the blue team.

However trying to read into symbolism is a bit silly. Red has always meant bad in mostly all games and fiction and such. It symbolizes anger and hate. Think Sith from Star Wars.
