Because been playing for 8 hours and taking a break, is that so hard to believe?
Not to folks who've spent 14 hours desperately coming up with new numbers or a new excuse tbf.
*shrugs* I was never going to play full game in one sitting. I play Dragon Age for fun I pace myself and move through it slowly, immersing myself in the content and making sure to get as much of the story stuff as I can. Less so achievement hunting more just making get full experience.
I just don't get why they don't just move on. Sure I am complaining, but it's because it's so boring. I would rather discuss lore, people characters or codex entries, not people obsessing on pushing their culture war bollocks.
Maybe turn on a lamp, so you can recognise how black your own pot is.
Don't you know if we fail to finish it on Day 1 we're not REAL gamers or something?
Take your time, I intend to.
Once I understood that, a lot of the behavior I see on Steam forums made more sense. Don't get me wrong, there is also a lot of authentic critique, and that's fine. But there are brigades against selected games organized both on the Steam forums, and from outside of Steam via Discord groups and the like. I've seen it in other forums as well. Sometimes even once it dies down, a few specific users (sometimes including alts of the same few users) will keep it up even a year plus after a game releases.
Sadly this is just what internet discussion forums look like now on Steam. It's why every forum for me now just is walls of "Topic By A Blocked User."
Yeah, that's understandable. But it's steam. The dragonageveilguard subreddit might be the best place for that. Until like a wiki/a is updated. But having those kind of discussions are going to require people to play further into the game I think.
You have to understand very intimately why racists/bigots commit to racism/bigotry to understand why they persist with posting their filth. It's not so much about the games as it's about their freaking out that heterosexual white males are no longer under the spotlight. It's like when you pull a fish out of water, what do they do?
Also, to put it plainly, they're being treated the way they've treated marginalized groups for a very long time and they can't handle it. It's the biggest, most insufferable hissyfit of all time.
Who suffers in the end? The consumer, as always. Why do you think people are pissed off over receiving an inferior product at a premium? Must be a mystery!
*bursts out laughing loudly* lord you really think you know it all huh. There is no big conspiracy, there is people making the games they wanna make, something a lot of your ilk can't wrap their head around. The only cancer is people who obsessively attack every game without a male protagonist. It's boring, you are all boring and frankly wasted my time enough here, I am going to do smart thing, go to sleep and play game when I wake up.
This is freaking hilarious. Doesn't surprise me at all though. Steam needs a major cleanup. It needs a strike team that shoot this "brigading" crap down and keeps it down.
I only visited briefly, but I also found that the official DAV forums for EA are pretty clear of children pitching a fit.
