What's the value in good reviews if the game lost money?
I genuinely don't want this game to do poorly, but by other observable metrics, like peak concurrent players, I don't reckon this game is the smash hit this community wants it to be, let alone the commercial success Bioware needs it to be.
If this game resonates with a particular audience, I'm glad to hear it, but it shouldn't be controversial to acknowledge that it isn't resonating with as large an audience as Bioware hoped it would, and needs it to.
Before launch: "Reviews will be poor."
When reviews are good: "Fake reviews, the user reviews are what really matter."
When user reviews are good: "Yeah but peak players are low and they're deleting reviews, it's a conspiracy! Also, how many of those people refunded?"
Months later: "This was the most refunded game on Steam! (Source: I said so.)"
And on and on and on ad infinitum until my brain bleeds from blocking people so much lol. (And of course if the reviews were negative instead, or mixed, then that would also likewise be used as confirmation bias... by the very same people who say the positive reviews are "fake.")
This however doesn't translate to players, as seen with the abysmal sales figures.
Giving dislike to everyone for this abomination of the game.
Yup. Something is going on. Can Steam be paid by them?
