Drivers crash 566.03
My GTX 1080 crashes often on driver 566.03

FIX: Rolling back to 560.94 driver fixed this for me.

DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands") GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080", Driver: 56603. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing; try installing the latest drivers. GPUBreagrumbs:

I did do a driver re-install with DDU, it did help a bit where I was able to at least get through the intro sequence. But now it crashed again- Previously before the reinstall it was during character creation.

Would be nice to hear any possible fixes. I run the game on medium, with most nonsense turned off. vsync off as well and motion blur and such.

I don't have any overlays on, nvidia game mode is off and steam game overlay is off. Nothing else is on in the backround.

I'm having the same problem. The menu won't even load for me anymore. I tried verifying the file integrity and that did nothing. I guess I'll try reinstalling...?

I had this problem with my old custom 1080ti, usually what solved it was to enable debug mode (that sets clocks to factory stock). should be on nvidia control panel> help> debug mode.

Have to wait till nvidia comes up with drivers for the game. In the mean time, you could try going back to older drivers or using the "studio" version of it instead of the "game ready" one.

You have to clear the cache folder in the game folder after installing the new driver

Same here. I can usually play for a while but eventually the game will lock up and it'll crash. I haven't lost any serious progress and last night I played for like 6 hours before it did it so I think this is just an issue that Nvidia or Bioware will need to sort out.

EDIT: I think I fixed it. It's the dumbest thing ever but apparently I had to update xbox accessories. The program that updates your controller seems to ♥♥♥♥ with the Nvidia drivers. Might not help you but it helped me. Good luck!

Same problem! I have a 3080ti. This is driving me nuts because there's nothing obvious I can do! Tried everything, old graphics, reinstalling drivers and game, lower graphics. Always crashing.

Yeah, I have a 4060 and the game won't even open. Mine says "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" and 56603. I've tried pretty much every fix suggested online. Driving me up the wall.

Playing with Steam on Linux the driver the game want's is version 570.x, maybe 566 is just too low.
I'm searching for a good Proton preset now, since it runs into an overflow at some point.

Same problem here, I'm on a 1080 ti. I tried the Nvidia debug thing mentioned above, at first I thought it solved the problem and I made it pretty far into the game. Then it crashed again on a cutscene after the whole Solas ritual scene with the same error.

Really frustrating, sounds like we'll just have to hope Nvidia addresses this soon.

I'm still at 560.94 and no crashes/problems in 10.5 hrs of my current playtime. (3070 ti)
