Game is nearly (official) dead
today i read an article from a german gaming website with the topic Warhammer RoR developers in trouble because of the game ~

the content of the article was that the game made not enough money and the company will propably lose around 32 million pounds in 2024 because of RoR means , they dont have enough money for other projects.
the developers now want to return to their strengths and make CMS games again.
They tested new waters with rts in the RoR game but failed now they go back to things they know.

doesnt sound like "okay lets save the game and make it good"
player numbers are often below 100 players.

lets finish this up - game is dead , they will wait till after christmas, maybe they sell some copys over the holidays and than they will surely drop the support ... like dawn of war 3 years ago ...
another nail in the coffin for warhammer rts games ... dawn of war 4 pretty much unlikely that it will ever happen its so sad ... just take company of heroes 3 , put it into warhammer 40k or even 30k setting and it would be awesome ... but i digress.

it is so sad to see another warhammer rts game fail ...

well. 60€ for a barebone is not everyones salat.
dawn of war 3 did actually well on release. it peaked with 25k+ players since everyone was expecting dow1 but better. it died due to horrible gameplay mechanics and devs didnt wanted to improve. (nobody asked for a moba dow)
frontier is knows for providing further support for their games. so in short. expect some improvements in the long run. we might see a rise in player numbers in the future if they keep up the support with new factions, better UI, more maps.

I read that too, and it actually worded a little differently
It said that they made less money than they planned, but they hope to increase sales over time
And it also said that even though it made less money, their other games sold well, and the losses won't be 30 million, but 6 or 8, don't remember. It's still a lot, but it sounds less dramatic than some of the other companies
So, because of this it doesn't sound like it's gonna die anytime soon actually, maybe after a couple of dls, but I don't see any reason for such dramatization. So, wipe those tears.

I've been watching this game for a long time and was semi-hyped for it, but yeah, that $60 price tag for what it contained just seemed way too steep based on what I was reading/seeing about it. I most likely would have been in at the $35 range.

The game simply doesn't have 60 dollar quality. I really wanted this game to be great but alas.

Seems like all Age of Sigmar games push the same 4 factions. There's like 4 times that many. I think a lot of AoS players just look right past this if one of 4 factions isn't theirs.

Thats the thing i expect at least 8 to 10 factions in modern WH game.. 4 is not enough.

Also, speaking about sales, well they have option to improve the game, release some free content and then paid dlcs. This game should often go on sale and in time they will get the money.

im enjoying the game. I think it should of sold for $40 and stayed single player focused (which im playing). Also, devs kept pushing for controller focused; most people play rts with k & m and well $60 too much to ask if you are not into warhammer i guess...game was day 1 for me though

LMAO. I've never refunded a game faster than this heap. RIP

RTS as a genre has been dead for over a decade so~

Full price AAA RTS games are a tough sell anymore.

Not as dead as some might think. Age 2 has a great Player Base and so has age 4.
Coh2 has 5k avrg. Twwh is also doing fine. The issue is simply current Price to content situation. Havin an active Base of 5k ppl in ur rts is good.
