And they die often. The Mortal Realms are a dangerous place.
And the Gods of Chaos control 90% of the territory.
In fact, Age of Sigmar is an attempt to reconquer the post-apocalytic world.
Age of Sigmar is... weird. These guys are basically a mix of Empire from Warhammer Fantasy, and Space Marines/Custodes from 40k.
Age of Sigmar on the whole is an attempt to make warhammer fantasy more like 40k. 40k is WAAAY more popular and always has been. Games Workshop was hoping that making fantasy more like 40k might win some more people over.
I don't think it worked.
I dont care. But providing data to back your statement would probably get your post out of copetopia.
Only positive I can say about AoS is that the models look cool for most things.
What...Are you high right now?
40k wasnt "always" their biggest and most popular game, and whatever reason GW did what they did with Warhammer Fantasy and Age of Sigmar it absolutely DID work.
AoS is an absolute success for GW, and if store owners and tournament organisers is anything to go by it seems as AoS is getting more table time than even 40k.
Its not the mainstream powerhouse that 40k has become though, but being a cartoon, chibi and a plentora of computer games doesnt neccesarily sell models.
If I were to guess its not because people in general think AoS is a better setting, but because its likely more fun to just play.
Or maybe its because you dont have to suffer through listening to adults with short beards and baseball caps backwards quote stupid ♥♥♥♥ like "blood for the blood god" or "the emperor protects" all the time.
See I told you the reason they were called Sigmarines is obvious OP
I'm new to 40k, Henry Caville loved the Custodes, I looked them up, then found this game and they looked a lot like Custodes and I didn't know and can't tell, so I asked... How is that "mad". I'm so confused how can my post offend anybody?
People can argue and debate, I just wanted to know if they were Custodes. Sorry if I offended anyone.
Have a good day.
If you are interested, I can explain what are the similarities and differences:
Not all Custodes wear golden armor, and neither do Stormcast Eternals. The colors and heraldry are different for different sub-factions.
Warriors of Adeptus Custodes are created using "science" + occult magic, whereas Stormcasts are created using a magical process. Therefore, Stormcasts are often women, such as the protagonist of this game.
Basically, Stormcasts are made from people saved at the last moment before death, but there are also former undead and even long-dead souls from the destroyed old fantasy world. There are even former Chaos champions!
It is important that the only soul is taken and a new "superhuman" body is created for it with the help of celestial magic, so the original physiology (for example, women) is not important here.
There are no more than 10,000 Custodes in total, while there is usually the same number of warriors in each Stormhost. And how many Stormhosts there are — only Sigmar knows.
While the colorful Stormhosts are reminiscent of the Space Marine Chapters, they are larger in number and in organization resemble only the 1st Legion - the Dark Angels before the Horus Heresy. Closely similar are "Chambers" — functionally reminiscent of the Wings of the Hexagrammaton.
Stormcast Eternals are not Space Marine in terms of their capabilities and strength, technically they are like Warriors of Chaos, but blessed by Order. Each has the strength of a "dozen men", but that's not even close to the Space Marines conquering planets with one squad.
What the Custodes and Stormcasters have in common is that they are all soul-bound to the Emperor/Sigmar, so there are no traitors among them.
Although the Stormcast Eternals are considered and created immortal, but in the first place, after each death, they lose some of their personality and humanity, so that in the end there may be a "Lightning Golem" — an electric ghost forever locked in armor, similar to the Rubric Marine of the Thousand Sons.
Secondly, many stormcasts have died ultimately, and it is impossible to resurrect them. Many more souls of the Stormcasts are trapped in the Cursed Skies — warpstorm that Be'lakor created.
There are no psykers among the Custodes, while the Stormcasts have numerous wizards and entire magical units reminiscent of the pre-Heresy Thousand Sons or the Grey Knights.
