Really disappointed
Waited all weekend to give this a try with no expectations. I love the warhammer universe and setting, so I was excited to see how it would translate to RTS. The game simply is not fun. It felt bad to play. Rather boring. I agree with those diagnosing consoleitis. I'm the biggest COH fan there is and if you think COH3 is bad then wow do I have an example of bad for you with this game. COH3 suffers from console port and being watered down but I love how that game feels and plays. This game is like the most watered down simplistic concept of RTS ever all while being completely unresponsive. Felt like a game for people who don't play games. Closer to a mobile game for children, it just looks pretty. I think I hate it just for what it represents from a gaming industry standpoint. Where have all the good devs gone? Why does the indsutry keep insisting on making games more and more casual both visually and gameplay wise? I'll tell you why. Money. To appeal to a larger audience. The problem is you're losing people who ACTUALLY GAME. You will lose money making these types of games. All this coming from someone who doesn't care about micro transactions. After all they help keep a game alive and if you want to spend money to look cool that's your choice. However I have no choice with this game but to put it down (possibly as the worst entry) on a growing list of games that have no idea what makes a game fun in the first place.

Yeah this game is real bad. It plays like Dawn of War 3 but somehow even worse. Its just a circle jerk of capture points with almost no units and zero base building what so ever. AI is awful as well.

funny that another AOS Game is that case and the Old World and 40K Games are still the best.

Agree with u. Me too, I was waiting for this game... when I made the first game, I could not believe my eyes: the worst "thing" I've seen in many many years :( :( :( :(

Awful game, immediately disintalled the beta and removed from wishlist

that a bummer, i would have immediately bought if it was like dawn of war 1, a skip for me... where have all the good RTS like age of mythology gone???
Daburn Jul 28, 2023 @ 4:41am
yea, same thing. Looked pretty and atmospheric, played boring. Only very few units, no base building even the few building parts there is are flat and boring and just running in circles capturing victory points :-(.

I was actually expecting more CoH 2 or 1 or DoW 1 or 2

I don't understand why developers keep going casual with RTS, age IV was super simple and downgrade to appeal to kids.
DOW3 was super casualized
The RTS that get more attention are the ones that offer deep experience with deep mechanics, complex game play, (tempest rising, COH, D.O.R.F, homeworld 3) going console simple doesn't work in RTS world, and going casual always fail, RTS players are not kids, please return to your roots if you really like RTS genre.

The evil influence of SEGA: consumers will buy anything at any price. :BlitzLOL:

What I dont understand, with Petroglyph they made a very neat RTS The Great War: Western Front, why not redesign the game properly with help of those genre Veterans and make another Battle for Middle Earth?

in AUS its $87... i would of bought the game at $60 but daaamn... you cant slap warhammer title and throw triple AAA pricing...

Things are even worse than can be imagine:
— to sell ANY game, you need wide advertising so that as many people as possible are interested in buying. This job isn't done, this game is massively obscured.
— the price is unjustifiably high and will not withstand competition with other hyped titles for the same price.
— the game is prohibited for sale in Russia. It's just a shot in the foot. At the same time, we can buy Stormground and Tempestfall in Russia.
Hell, what to say: Baldur's Gate 3 is sold in Russia despite all the rotten politics and it costs only 20$ regionally! This is how business should be done.

i'll say it again: i LIKED the pvp gameplay. I think it's good, but at 60 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ euros, they've had to be smoking crack or something. IT's just insane
