Bug in last mission The Lament
When I try to capture the last spire, itkeep saying that it is contested. I have however destroyed all enemy forces around the spire (the only enemy left is the Titan ship and its's escorts. This is getting frustrating. Do more people have this problem? And is there a fix for this?

I noticed it in previous missions as well. Even the one in which the concept of "data spires" is first introduced. For whatever reason, once the "narrative" moves away from the subject of pointing these things out, suddenly they are no longer paid attention to by the game and they remain "contested" forever. Even if I pull back my forces and leave it alone for awhile, any time I re-enter the area with even so much as a probe, it will show as "contested."

I remember thinking, "gee, I sure hope these control point-type things never become mission-critical." Joke's on me, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah I've restarted the mission a couple times, now. I'm just going to stop playing for a few weeks and see what happens.

I was wondering about this myself as I just ran into the problem, also tried restarting the mission a few times as well but the problem remains. Guess we'll need to wait for a bug fix to come out.

Have the same issue, not going to restart because of this. What a crappy end to the campaign, which wasn't so great to begin with :(

Same Same, last spire, always contested, totally frustrating. The Titan ship just jumps almost continuously from one spot to another, and its healing escorts can be destroyed but just regenerate instantly on jump. The level designers didnt seem to fully get the idea of 'creativity' being key to a players thought process, instead just hard scripted nonsense.

Alright. So I ran into this and I thought it was the same bug....

Control Point 3 which was the right one was the first one I went after. Never got the prompt to dock. So I said screw it I'll kill everything. Got the other two CPS no problem then got to battle the mother ship through her cycle for a good 45 minutes of her just keeping to re heal.

So I did what most of you did removed everything from my CP and kept going back to see if it would prompt. This didn't work, still contested no ship in sight.

I would not give up. By a sudden accident I sent a ship down into the crevice next to the control point. One of the enemy missile frigates was stuck down in the crevice on the lip which means it doesn't show on radar and because it was stuck on the lip it's flight path was impeded so it would never engage which again makes it not show up on radar.

If you think its a bug, make sure to send probes or run scout ships through all the crevices next to the CP to make sure enemy ships aren't stuck which are contesting CP.

Yeah its super lame, but I was able to recreate this scenario and noticed in another map that enemy ships will get stuck in areas not visible next to CPs. Even with my mother ship on top of the CP I couldn't see these enemies. So yeah if you don't want to restart the mission just run scouts through the crevices or anywhere a ship can stuck.

Andrejavic, that worked for me! Thank you. I took a set of scouts and just flew all over the crevices and under the lips and in tunnels even and eventually found a lone hiding smart missile cruiser that only appeared when my scouts were right next to it.

Good work!
