Ensure it is a 16-bit PCM 44.1khz (1411kbs) .wav file. .mp3 files also work in SFM, but I don't know the requirements. You're best to use .wav anyway, as .mp3s don't scale or scrub right in SFM.

If you're positive the file meets these requirements, try closing SFM, renaming the sound file and relaunching SFM to try it again. Sometimes that works for me, somehow.

You sure you don't mean 16bit R234? 32-bit is kind of insane for an audio file haha.

It's a wonder how anybody keeps anything straight these days what with 16/24/32/64 bit everything.

You can use an audio program like Audacity to save the audio file using the parameters described above, but I'm not sure how to check one otherwise.

When I let a wav file play in sfm (not with every file, just a single one that I converted from mp3 into wav in audacity) it plays for a quarter of a second or a half of a second, then stops, plays the next quarter or half( I think half) and, stops again, plays the next half and so on. Does anybody know how to fix it?

does the audio file have to be a certain length to play?

I have the same problem and it is a .wav file
My audio I imported, such as music, sound effects, etc, have stopped working. It was just working last week and now I can't get it to work. I really need help because I'm making a big SFM project. If you have answers to this solution, please let me know I need all the help I could get!

I know an answer that will work (only if your using Audacity) If you open Audacity and look at the bottom left. There will be a drop down menu, set that to 44100 and export your audio as a WAV. then it should work.
This did not work

Just an FYI Audacity ruined the 44100 16-bit preset it basically turns the audio into total garbage and very deep sounding when using it for voice lines
