Cheap motion capture?
All the cool kids are doing it. There's one problem with it, though: the price tag.
Is there any AFFORDABLE motion capture software out there? :|
I will not do these two things, and I will not make an SFM video until I can avoid these:
Spend months working on a few minute's worth of animations to make amazing video.
Spend thousands of dollars on special cameras and software to make amazing video.

i use two kinects. and a green sweat suit.

but the cheap way would be to get a few digital cameras, and then go gets something offline that supports them, like brekel or ipi. plus, search google for "camera motion caputre," or "easy motion capture" alot of good options come up. but to be honest, quality takes dedication. i once spent 2 months keyframing a 40 minute long fight scene. but that was in 3ds MAX, and i was a noob at it.

ipisoft's product is very intriguing but the price tag is still a bit high for entry level IMO. I picked up a used XBOX Kinect ($75) and downloaded the Brekel Kinect software (free). Bear in mind that no motion capture software is perfect and that there are artists that specialize in mocap cleanup. I plan to use my mocap as reference in the SFM realm for timing and spacing then keyframe it by hand. Good luck.
