[SOLVED] Unable to download SFM, HELP!

When i press the install button it stays 2 minutes doing nothing, and than an error pop up and says 'connection timed out' or sometimes says 'update suspended'...any ideas?

Have you tried restarting steam?

i got this problem too

the solution is, maybe restart steam or you pc, if it still doesnt work after restarting steam, restart it again, if restarting your pc does not work, it must be on oyur ocnnection.

@Overlord, i tried restarting steam...nothing happened.

I tried downloading SFM on my brother's laptop, the same message shows (The connection was fine on both devices: mine and my brother's)



It seems to be a pronlem everywhere :/

Where are you trying to download from, if the Steam Client store, then go to the Source Filmmaker web site and try downing it from there... http://www.sourcefilmmaker.com/

If you're trying to download it from the website, then go to the store and install from there

Try running steam as an administrator (right click on steam, run as admin, log in and all the same) then install the program.

I am already the admin, does that make any difference? i dunno.
I tried again.....the same error shows up.

Yes it Does, Some apps need Super Admin rites to install. (in other words Admin account have to run installers by right clicking them and running them as admin.)

Well, i'll try, but i installed SFM before without doing that 'Run as Admin.' step

i'll try by switching to steam beta,

i'll try this method of seeing if the game appears in the list when hte pop up error comes. other than that, what about this guy

I actually used this to download SFM finally, it's not scam or virus
but there is actually one thing: steam wont let you choose where to
install SFM, it downloads instantly...

copy eveything under the steamapps folder and paste into the c:/.,....steamapps folder, it will overwrite, say yes.

but it didn't work for me, and besides it is 15 gb i think my machine won't be able to run it well, it heats up even after 10 minutes of cs. :| when i get a massive rig i will try to get a hold ofa thissa beta code thingy too, or is it open for all now? the update usually says "suspended", well at least after this method i got the game in the list, even if downloaded bytes is 0
