also, it's quite possible to have maps that aren't bsps. they are called scenebuilds. maps made out of models and set in a black map like blackvoid or scenebuild_hugevoid.
Yes, it is. It's a mod of Half-Life 2, basically, but it's built in a strange way. On the forums, I learned that the map files aren't made from .bmp files, but of two seperate files that apperanly 'patch' into the Source files. These files that came out of the decompiled .vpk are .lmp and .pat files ( I assume these .lmps are 'patched' into the Source maps via the .pats, but I have no official confirmation of such. ).
