SFM low FPS make it hard to work with
Hi. I'm new to this with video making in SFM. I jhave this problem with low fps when I try to do anyting in sfm. It is not to bad when you load in a new map empty. But after making we say 1-2min of video the frame rate is ***** to the point when the sound is out of sync and skip sound tracks to try and keep it synct.

Best to give the basic info to not be but **** by you angry internet guys.
Sorry for the *****. And for my bad Eng. I can not trust Google translate and run on the English I know. Sorry Natso if you never uset Internet before.

I5 CPU 64x
3GB GPU
10GB D5
1 SDD and a 500GB slave bi***
And this is not a laptop.

TF2 max out at 200-300fps of epic noob team fun.
SFM 30fps at best. 24fps normal. 19fps when I hate myself doing SFM.
"I have it set to 30fps when I start" And when I'm not moving and pauset it is running at 70-100fps.

Now is it to bad? No. But how can I make anyting in 60fps when I can not even run it at 30fps? I tested it out with 60fps pre set and it is way to hard to make anyting when the frame rate lag is real :c

Is this what we (me) have to live with? Is it only due to beta SFM that is not even true to begin with.. It is not a beta. It is only to make us not rage when it bug out.

I can run allot of games at max out 60fps. (or even better frame rate) And I tested with the in game models. The non Hwm and it was as ♥♥♥♥♥ frame rate as hwm..

Btw I have like 5-7 hwm loaded at max. Did not help with the normal ones at all. And turning off ligthing and what not did noting with the frame rate. = it is not my pc that limit the fps rigth?

What I ask for is this... Can I run SFM at 60fps or 30fps some how? I mean true 30-60fps. Not droping frames like if my pc was a lamp or mac. I do not trust that Meet the team videos was made with anyting better then a I7 CPU and a 4GB GPU.

Yeah, well, I have about 13-15 frames per second when I load a map, and about 10-13 with a model or two spawned, so you shouldn't complain.

The amount of VRAM of your GPU is irrelevant, what we need is the make and model.

Also, did you try turning off ambient occlusion? That's by far the biggest resource hog in SFM.

And your performances in other games are no indication. No game engine works the same, and TF2 has much, much lower system requirements than SFM.

i usually get like 4-6fps with AO and lighting on. 10-15 without.

Well, I made it a little bit less laggy when i turned off ambient occlusion. It went from 2 FPS to like 8 to 57 back and fourth. And what does ambient occlusion do?
