Need help with facial posing
Hello. For a certain picture I want to do for a friend, I need need to make the scout do a sort of closed-mouth smile (no teeth showing) and I was wondering if that was even possible. I can't seem to find any SFM tutorials on this, and I haven't seen much discussion on the topic. If you can help, please leave a comment below. Thanks :)

Just use the smile flex. If you don't touch the lips v and mouth v flexes the mouth should remain shut.

You should use the HWM Scout. The HWM models have advanced face posing.

Bonus ducks tip: Set LipUpV or whatever to something a bit downwards (maybe 0.2 or 0.3), and then LipDownV or whatever to also something a bit downwards (0.8 or 0.7, should be as far away from 0.5 as LipUpV). In my opinion, that can help, at least with sad expressions (if done the opposite way).

Vintage, how do you access the LipUpV, LipDownV, etc.? I'm not sure how to use that function. I think that those tools are in the "Lower Face" tab in the model, yes? If so, then they are not there for me. I can only see the mouth sounds (OO, AH, AW, etc.). I am using the "player\hwm\scout" model. Any more advice?

P.S. - Nice touch with the "ducks"

I also don't have a "Tongue" tab...
I'm either an idiot and I'm doing something wrong (probably) or something is wrong with my SFM

That's because you're using the wrong model. You need to use the HWM Scout. Type HWM in the search field and you'll find it easily.

Huh, I thought I was using the HWM scout. I guess that was my screw-up. Thanks guys for the help :)
