SFMBOX Archive?
So after a year or 2 ive decided to start trying to use sfm again. Im sad to learn that SFMBOX has been shut down.Does anyone have a link to the files that were on the site? The only one ive found was a mediafire link but thats out of date and not working anymore.

there was some drama over on the site hosting it that resulted in domains getting shut down. new ones being created, etc. and the archive died along the way.

sadly, unless someone is willing to host it. or unless someone makes a torrent. there isn't much that can be done.

Thats too bad.I wish someone would torrent it because I remember there being lots of dmx animations and maps that would have been useful for me.So far ive been using SFMLAB and the workshop in the meantime.Although neither has as many files as SFMBOX did.

By the way im looking for the Kingdom Hearts pack that was on the site. If anybody has it could you please upload it to the workshop?

This is probably a silly question but is it possible to get it hosted on archive.org?

I, dunno. I thought the wayback was just a bot constructed reserve, and actual people don't select what goes in?

I tried using the wayback machine. No one took any snaps of the site.Even if they did you cant download files from a wayback site.Only look at it.

I have a friend who has his net label stuff hosted on archive.org, I beleive its something that can be arranged but I'm not sure how, I can't ask him right now.

too late now though.

it would take some effort to do it as even zipped the archive is 7gb.

I'm willing to bet somebody got the entire thing, but can't post it.

If so, I would have no complaints if they started mirroring them over here or on SFMLab. There's some great models in there, almost completely lost forever.

Yeah what a shame.Im still looking for the Kingdom Hearts model pack for SFM that was on the site.No one has posted it in the workshop or SFMLAB.

the issue with the workshop is the limitations. a single WS entry can only be 300mb unzipped. and trying to upload more can cause issues. I once tried to upload a pack of models, but the upload kept failing do to a steam issue (it was around the end of the winter sale last year), and because of the limitation. the result was that i couldn't upload, AND, each attempt ate away at my steam cache without me knowing it. its because of that that my steam cache has over 500mb of space that i CAN'T access due to a glitch in their system. and steam refused to fix the issue.

So right now I only have 400mb available out of 1gb of space despite only having about 80mb worth of stuff in the WS.

the entire sfmbox archive is just 7GB? that can't be right thats tiny..
By the way, think about maybe uploading to free google drive account, its huge
raptornx01 Dec 23, 2014 @ 10:54am
because it's a crap ton of rars and zips in other rar/zip archives.
Pie Baron Dec 23, 2014 @ 11:03am
I'm not sure I understand, I assume this crap ton of rars and zips are in a root directory, which can in turn be shared on google drive or dropbox for anyone to browse
raptornx01 Dec 23, 2014 @ 11:14am
no, the archive consists of about a dozen rars (each one for a different thing. maps, game models, public uploads, scripts, etc). inside each of those has dozens to hundreds of other rars for the various uploads.

thats why it seems small.

I understand the nature of folders/archives within folders/archives, but don't see how its relevant to what I have been saying. I don't mean to sound rude!
Have you used cloud storage such as dropbox or google drive before?
