First Plug your speakers or head set in, and make sure they're tuned on... (Just kidding, lol)

Seriously though, your audio clip may not be in a format accepted by SFM.

Convert your audio to MS PCM Wav 16bit, 44100hz with Audacity then throw it into Usermod\Sound, then try to listen to it.

Also, try listening to vo\scout_needdispenser01.wav in Source FilmMaker. Can you hear that?

I believe it also has to be mono.

Source supports stereo sounds completely.

My problem is that sfm produces no sound whatsoever.

This is going to sound like a stupid suggestion because you probably have already checked it But I'm wondering if SFM has it's own channel or device in your computer's audio setup and it is turned down or muted. Some programs do this. Check the speaker icon on your task bar for a separate device//channel.

For those who don't know what to check for here: Click the "Speakers" icon, then click the blue "Mixer" text at the bottom of the speaker volume thing. At least in Windows 7.

Same for Windows 8 and 8.1... Thanks Vintage, I knew it was there, but couldn't find it... Reason being, My Laptop was crapping out. It DIED today...

Yup, It LIVES again, just bought a new 1TB drive for it. Now to do the flipping set up. Windows 7 recovery disks then up grade to 8.1, all the flipping updates, install the rest of the junk I had on the thing then the dreaded 100 gig download to put the Steam games I had on it before... I hate having to do the reinstall process, even after months of tweaking it will never be the same...

ok i fugured out the problemo. If you switch between playback devices while sfm is running (like between speakers to headphones as an example) it will disable sound.
