1: are you sure you extracted hl2 folder from the vpk to the "sourcefilmmaker/game" folder?
2: are the map files showing in the hl2 maps folder?
3: have you tried to move the maps over to the usermod folder and see if they work?
4: is the hl2 folder showing up in the mods filter when you load a map?
Everything else is included with SFM!
Yes
No, unfortunately
Unsure, how can i check this?
While I'm downloading this, does it only have textures or the maps included, i'm not very good with this kindof stuff, sorry.
EDIT: I found this video comparing this mod
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaSBjqlKv04
but I don't really see how this helps, is it just updated maps that I can mount to sfm?
sfm comes with the hl2 materials already installed. you would just place these bsp files into usermod/maps folder and they should load up no prob.
Not sure how it happened, but it did
When adding Bees' downloable maps and materials, It didn't show up
BUT, when I moved the Maps out of the folder and placed it in the base,I decided to just open a .bsp with sfm, It worked, but with terrible models, so I tried to add a different map and had seen 0/211 so I clicked all mods and found all the maps in hl2 instead of my custom folder
Seriously, thank you guys for putting up with my stupidity
Full final Edit: I placed Bees' Map Files in my custom folder, but they can only be used in the Default hl2 folder, if they are removed then you cant open the maps, I am unsure if you can just put the maps in the hl2 folder itself, but that is the way I did it, so if anyone else needs help with this just review over all thats been said
When opening d1_trainstation_02.bsp it had the weirdest lighting iv'e ever seen
It looks like different colors everywhere when moving the camera, it also changes position every camera movement, kinda like this http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/542932039717789345/6F1CB0439F5D4173FE22316C26FEE1FDD8B85438/
And when I go into the console it shows this message
CSceneEntity lcs_tv_breencast unable to find actor named "breen"
it just repeats it as if its a complete loop
After putting in mat_specular 0 it gets rid of it completely except for the Models, this same person was having the problem

mat_specular 0
buildcubemaps
make sure to save before putting these commands in, but once you do, restart SFM and the lighting should look fine
YO the water fix worked! Thank you!
Edit: I mean the map from the update pack.
