Can't be difficult? Then why don't you go ahead and do so?
I mean, Source FilmMaker supports Python scripts, so...
cause im not programmer. go troll elswhere. point was that if option to scale all 3 at once is already there and it was possible in gmod, then it shouldnt be hard to implement.

It took almost a year for Valve to release the capability to scale on the 3 axis in SFM. As it does not look like a script so the function must be hard coded somewhere in the actual program. Also as I am not a programmer, I would not have any idea how to access the function to write code to do it.

Prior to having the ability to scale in SFM, we had to decompile and use a $scale command in the qc to enlarge or shrink a model and that scaled on all 3 axis. So if may not be possible to lock 2 and scale on one. But you always have this option to do it. Decompile, bring the source into a 3d editor then scale it the way you want and recompile when done...

having the ability to scale just on one axis would be nice as it would allow for squash and stretch animations. let you give a bit of life to a static model for example.

i know about decompiling method but that takes some time and effort. also no way use it in animation like raptor mentioned. would be great to be able to do it on a go. not gona hold my breath though. good that theres scaling at all.

Yeah, uhh, if it doesn't work when replacing the float scale value with a vector3 value, why do you think it would "be easy"? I'm not trolling, I'm correct. Oh, and not a programmer? There you have why you think it's easy. You don't know how hard it could even possibly be.

Hmmm, 3 Vector... I wonder!!!
good, u can go now MR CORRECT. krayst, can u live without trying to inflate ur ego on expense of others? and yes, ur trolling. im not trying to undermine the fact that it is complex process, and to set demands, but if vry similar function is there already it may or may not mean that is not as difficult as creating it from ground up. also trying to make sure that option isnt there already.
But why would u care? seems u just want to put others down. if thats not trollin then i get it wrong. so stop yaping if ur not helping to resolve subject of thread, and ♥♥♥♥ off, would u?

any1 know which is best 3d editor to scale bones? tried blender but is complicated. have to scale bones and mesh separately and end up looking weird.

Calm down there mate, #8 was just you yapping too. Vintage is helpful, if a little harsh at times.

Anyway, I'd say use Blender. It's free and the Blender-Source tools are existent and useful. It doesn't take long to get used to; look at tutorials (there's plenty of text and video) and you'll be fine.

Make sure you only scale in edit mode, and be sure that the scale of all objects is 1.000 in object mode. Scale roughly by hand, but make the final scale values clean numbers so you can keep track of things and stay consistent.

if you use that with color you can make the texture glow. like a poor man's selfillum.

Yeah, I tried to access scale (and $scale) with the 3 vector, but it did not work. I'm not good with DMe elements yet, but I might scale something and see if I can see the Scale control in the DMX and see if there is something there.

I do that a lot... did. I did that a lot. But currently, I don't see what I could use it for. If used correctly, that can actually look really nice, though.

If I remember right... Add scale lock to a bone, right-click the animationset, click View in Element Viewer > Model > bone names/children > "scale". Adding/changing that to a float works. Haven't tested integers or booleans. But vector3s don't work.
