(tf2) Adding cosmetics to recorded players
Hi,

I recorded the motion of a soldier by using the record button in sfm, but I can't seem to work out how to add hats to it.

I know how to add hats to imported player models, bip_head and all that, but the soldier isn't there in the animation set editor to add the hat to.

Is there any way I can do this?

Thanks

You need to make the Soldier an exisitng element. To do this, click the + symbol where you open a model, but this time click add animation set for exisitng element. Something will pop up, you just need to search until you find the HWM Soldier you recorded, once you do click it, and then click okay. You will notice in the model viewer there is something called 'Soldier'. Now to add a cosmetic, right click the recording soldier in the model viewer, and click add team fortress 2 item. And thats all there is too it! I hope this helped.

Aah, thanks! I didn't know you had to convert the soldier into an animation set, it was plain sailing after that. Thanks again!

Nice necro. Anyway, while we're here, can you explain to us what you exactly did? We might be able to show you what went wrong.
Just typing response though even somebody already did, Cosmetics is an really cool showing items for characters in animation, but don't add them too much :D
It's not letting me remove soldier helmet

In animation set editor, right click the soldier animation set, select bodygroup > helmet and disable the helmet.
