How to add gun shot particles?
Hey, would really appreciate someone helping me out.

If someone could briefly explain how to add a gun shot particle on the end of a gun it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hello there Monkey! Adding a gun effect is actually pretty simple. First, click the + sign where you would usually add a model, except this time add a new particle effect intstead. A thing will pop up with a whole bunch of particle effects, (if its not showing up for you, you will need to go to this directory: C:/prgramfiles (x86)/steam/steamapps/sourcefilmmaker/game/tf/particles) and side scroll until you see 'muzzel flash' select it and click okay. But before you click okay again, you will see a small slider, that contains all kinda of different muzzle flashes other guns use. So you can choose whichever one you need. After you select one, now you can press okay. But the muzzel flash wont appear yet, you need to drag the slider out into the darkness, and then drag it back. Now your particle effect should work! I hope this helped.

To add to that, most muzzle flashes appear only for few frames so you should edit the particle's start time to your needs.

I have the right muzzle flash up, it is called Muzzle_shotgun_sparks1, Doesnt appear to be showing up, i have dragged it out of the darkness etc and i have put the start time at 1 and end at 99 so there is no reason to why it shouldnt show up. The file i went in to get the muzzle flash is muzzle_flash_dx80.pcf

Try brining everything back to defualt. (Make the start and end times as they were before.)

Then try adding the particle effect only in the motion editer. Or if you already have, other way around.

Try using muzzle_flash.pcf instead of the dx80.

So did it work? And what did you do that made it work? I would like to know cause if someone else gets this problem, I can tell them right off the bat.

Basically i think it was down to moving the animation line, at first i was moving it rapidly like you would do with a unusual effect, but after i then moved it slowly to find exactly where my start time was and i found it.

Oh okay, thanks. :)
How can ı make weapon shoots , muzle flash and weapon shoot sound sync ?

Why do you have to necro this. Reading is essential. As for syncing, the moment you set the time for the muzzle flash to appear, make the sound start a frame before the time you set the muzzle flash to appear
But shoot particle only 1 more working not repeating.I mean like lip sync.

Ok… it's the nature of the particle is to shoot once. If you're good with particles, you can make it shoot more than 1 time.

Lip syncing is easy if you are a patient guy. Take a voiceline, now tap the right key to listen to the sound and use the phonemes and visemes to match the voice. Then use the smooth procedural (just a little bit) to make it look natural
