and does it crash sfm on start up if i click ok on the new/updated workshop stuff? even unchecking all but one causes it.

You probably just have too much stuff loaded onto SFM. CUtlRBTree overflow often refers to a memory issue.

Like I told you last time, you're thinking of "Warning: overflowed CClientRenderablesList group 1". "CUtlRBTree Overflow!" is a whole other error.

Raptor, check this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/1840/discussions/0/611696927915836470/
The OP had the same issue and the cause turned out to be something they messed up in the Element Viewer.

when i was searching up this problem i came across that thread (and the thread you referenced above)

But this happens even when starting a new session. and only if I click ok on the add new/update workshop popup. if i hit cancel it doesn't happen.

and can confirm neither verifying the cache, nor restarting either sfm or my comp, nor having all my mods unchecked solves anything.

I managed to get it to go away by renaming my workshop folder and letting it redownload my subs.

I don't know if this is of any value to you guys, but I get this error after playing 128tick servers on CS:GO. I have no idea how these things would relate but hope it can help.

i know what it is. as I said it seems to be too many things in one folder. specifically a folder linked to the workshop or one that accepts downloads.

as long as keep unsubbing stuff when i sub to something new i'm fine.

I remember this being the bane of my existence a while ago. I think I fixed it by getting rid of some of the extra 'game' entries in my game info.txt, decreasing the amount of assets being loaded. It's still a horrendous number though.... *cringe*

i had tried that. at one point I removed EVERYTHING except hl2 and workshop and still got the error. only unsubbing and letting it delete them allowed me to proceed.

My problem is specific to just one single sfm session[my active project ;( ] ......No other sessions are affected . unchecking those model directories not in use dosen't help....while working on it... it dosen't crash if i dont move. it crashes after some time ,mostly while its playing animation or when i move camera. thats not much a problem coz i learnt to save a lot and have no problem with reopening sfm.
The main problem is rendering . after rendering about 15-25 frames.. it gives this error and crashes, making immpossible for me to render my 120sec long 60fps animation.
Also removed all the models outside camera fov/fustrum in the rendering shot(leaving only 6 models present).
Also made a new session(60fps), loaded same map , a few models ,light , moving camera, etc. to mimmic my original project.........renders .....perfectly.......fine. only my current(main) sfm project has this issue...

Plz help ;(
