How do I modify a map's light settings?
I'm using a nice desert map I got off the workshop, but it's very bright and yellow, which I normally wouldn't mind, but I'm going for n evening setting. I used tonemapscale and it made things darker, but didn't take away the overall yellow haze, sun, and bright far-off hills. Is there a way I can change the map's light settings somehow, including the sun?

Near the end of it he changes the brightness of the screen.
I am sure this can be manipulated to change the map.

He uses tonemapscale, which is what I already used. His color correction bit at the end helped a little, but I'd prefer actually changing the light itself to be less yellow. And there's still the issue of the sun and bright hills still being there.

Hmmm... sorry. I don't know what to do from here. I'll let PTE jack or one of the other regulars handle this.

Alright, well thanks anyway! Hopefully someone will know what to do.

To adjust the haze/fog effect, go into Game Mode and use the console command "fogui". This won't be saved into your project though, so you'll want to do it before rendering.

Additional lighting tints are just... part of the map's compiled lighting.

Sorry, when I meant haze, I meant like a yellow overlay. Is there any way to change the map's compiled lighting then?

you have to edit the map in hammer. it's really the only way I know of.

I know this is way too late, but if you want to remove the sun from your map put this in the console:

sv_skyname sky_halloween

it changes it to a night sky. There are other skies too, just search sfm skyboxes
