Making explosions happen and space
How do I make explosions actually happen? I did the same thing the tutorial did at first but I don't know how to move the explosion, or where it even goes...

-----------------------------

In the bottom right of the sfm you can see "mem:####" is that how much memory the whole sfm took or just this 1 film? Cause memory could be an issue for me.

Which particle system are you using exactly? It can vary from one to the other, but generally you just have to place its transform where you want the explosion to originate from. Bear in mind you have to refresh a particle system after importing it by moving the playhead out of the current shot and then back in (or toggle its visibility off and on with the eye icon next to it in the animation set editor.) Also, some particle systems are "child" systems, which aren't meant to be used on their own, and sometimes don't work properly if you do.

"Mem" is how much memory SFM is currently using. You can refresh it by restarting SFM if it starts getting too high. Just make sure you don't preview too much stuff, like in the model import dialog, since it doesn't unload those, even if you don't actually import it into the project.

when you spawn the particle make sure you're in the motion editor, and when you move it, you won't be able to see it move, so after you move it you have to move the playhead off the timeline then back on.

Thanks! turns out I wasn't in the right timeline.

but I still can't move them, I don't see the thing that lets me move them. And I'm in the motion editor

Are you in the correct shot? Is the correct animation set selected? Also, if you're using the work camera, bear in mind that the particle system will have spawned close to the active camera instead, wherever you last left it.
