FBX Ascii Import Error
Hey Guys,
This is my first time with SFM.
Ill keep it short.
I have a really great model for the source engine, but it is in fbx.
The author is dead, and when I import the model into blender, it says that it is unsupported because it is in ascii. This may be the wrong place to ask, but noone can remotely solve my problem. Anyone know how to import it?
I dont care what I have to do, I just need it. Once I get it in Blender, I can compile it into a usable valve character model.

You might want to give one of the guys that use Maya a try. I've tried the fbx import utility in Blender a few times with out luck. Apparently Maya will open most FBXs without problems. Or you can grab a trial version and try it yourself.

Its always my hardware! I have a laptop that runs games great, but when it comes to Hammer and SFM, it sucks! I just realized that Maya is 64x and I'm 86x (or 32x). If I could give someone the model, I would be really appreciative if they could port it to SFM, with citizen animations.
I have an old model of David Tennant that I want to use, and it would be the best out there for SFM. I would gladly give the porter credit.

Link me to the model, I'll see if I can get it into Blender, no promises... As for the 10th Doctor, there are lots of DR Who model packs out there for GMod. Most work in SFM with a little tweaking.

Thank you, and like I said.
I just need this as a model I could use as a citizen model. (Like the glitchy 11th model, but this one will be rigged for sfm) Citizen animations for it. (This would work as a model im a HL2 mod, right?) And yes, I will give you credit.

In HL2 this is a metal prop with no anything at all!
But I can retexture it.
Can you rig it?

Its not as bad as it looks, but I can retexture.
Can you make it flesh, and add animations?

Nice work.
I dont have much experience w/ Blender.
So, the actual model will look like the original picture, not the imgur. (When everything is said and done)
Also, Im sorry if Im being a nuisance, I'm a high schooler aspiring to be a programmer, and a source filmmaker. So my question is, what do you mean by bones removed. Is the product you are trying to give me, something I can toss into the Blender. Then I can add citizen animations and export to be a citizen model. Right?
