pl_pier crashes SFM
I decompressed the map so SFM can load it in properly like for suijin and borneo and it still crashes. I also verified SFM's files so everything should be working as intended. It doesn't so I figured maybe someone here knows a solution for this particular map?

I used this guide here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=480267373

Still crashes when it's loading in the map. Any advice?

Not all (Valve) maps are going to work in SFM, especially if they have been developed in Hammer for the newer versions of TF2 (that use an upgraded version of the Source Engine).

The map may currently be compressed and needs to be decompressed before you can use it or there are calls to functions not supported by the Steam Source engine that SFM uses or the map may be just too complicated for SFM to understand it.

That's a shame. Thanks for the heads up.

Yah, Pl_Pier is definitely a compressed map. In its TF2 state, the file is only 38MBs and when decompressed (repacked) it expands to around 107MBs. I did the repack (decompression) and tried to load that into SFM and the map still crashes SFM. Looking at the default maps in the TF folders, there is nothing over 80MBs, so this map either eats up too many resources (with all the stuff embedded in it) or is just too complicated for the SFM engine to handle (without decompiling and Hammering the crud out of it).

Remember, SFM is only a 32bit program, resources are limited.

Sorry!
