How the heck did Skibidi toilet go viral?!

The animation is garbage, the idea is garbage, and the "story" is garbage. I made several animations a few years back with a (crappy) animation style that was much better and some of my videos got thousands of views. But skibidi toilet, an in-superior heaping pile of refuse somehow gets billions of views and goes viral? It even has overpriced $50 toilets with random items inside at stores in real life! I'm jelous and trying to understand how this thing went viral lol.

My somewhat educated guess is that by combining very short production times, significant social media presence, simply getting lucky by going viral in the first place and the fact that a certain demographic fill gulp down any repetitive slop if it's from the same maker. This applies to other media as well - you can definitely see how profitable that can be for companies like Hallmark and Marvel.

On a similar note, if anyone here is tired of seeing the Skibidi Toilet addons that are starting to pop up on the SFM workshop just report them for being "Stolen Content."

Because most of the Skibidi Toilet models being posted up here were created using content from other Source Engine games (IE: Half-Life 2, Black Mesa, etc.) or model ports posted up by other users, often without their permission.
