I wish I could fully migrate to S2FM but the lack of Source 1 asset backward compatibility and few missing features like override materials hold me back.
Switching to blender was the best decision I've ever made
Two of them were on the 11th of July, 2012 - I don't know whether neither, one, or both of those updates were released after Source Filmmaker went public, but that's still at least 33 times that Source Filmmaker has been updated over the course of 2.5 years after its public release.
blender just feels wayy too sterile for me, I like how awful SFM is if im honest.
Also, abandonware? I call that permanent LTS 🤑🏣🏚️🗻
I wish that were true, however I say that blender lags from experience. It's not the render engine, cycles or Eevee runs fine on a simple scene, but moving rigs and stuff is just extremely slow, especially compared to sfm. That's something else also; making an IK rig in SFM is extremely easy.
But I agree there are lots of times I don't wanna recompile a model to do something, I use blender for that. There's a lot of times blender is useful, the same can be said for SFM.
