Lighting a huge scene in SFM.
i've built a huge plain on Black Void and I'm really not about to have over 20 lights to light it.
Is there any better way to light a massive scene?

Like simulating sunlight?
I'd love to know the answer to this one myself...:steamsad:

You can learn a few things from this. All it really is is just making a huge light or two.

Personally, lights just don't have enough reach. I tend to resort to MULTIPLE lights in order to get the scene lit up correctly...

What's the difference between "lights" and "multiple lights"?

Now that is a useful video!!
I've been trying to figure this out for about two weeks now!! lol

@64GIGS.exe, If I'm trying to light up a large zone, I am forced to use multiple lights to coax out the shadows in a way that is, at least, better than having black rocks and an unlit Felguard.
EDIT: Watched video. Values can be altered to suffice. Will be useful.

Also, there's a lack of portal props (I mean things like The Dark Portal, not the Portal gun ones) which would be nice.

Yeah, that's why I said "huge".

Half-Life 2 has some portal/vortex type stuff you might be able to use. Or you could make your own with particles.

I tried that tutorial, it's a little hard to follow, I had to pause the video at each setting and then hop in SFM and experiment.
It does work quite nice though, I was able to go from this:

Overall, a good tutorial!
