BSP Hammer Export Has No HDR Lighting
There is this workshop Ultimate Custom Night map I am using for an sfm but it is too big to add many models in because it uses too much memory so I tried to delete parts of the map I didn't need in hammer. When I go Run Map with HDR lighting enabled it doesn't say there are any leaks but it does say 'VMPI running in SDK mode but incorrect SDK install detected (error 2).' I close the window, load it in sfm and it says there is no HDR lighting. Some of the ones I try now also say No Map Loaded once that error comes up or the map is completely black with lighting turned off. Can someone please help me with this issue.

Can you confirm whether or not the compiled map has at least one source of light in the map?
(If it doesn't, I don't think that high dynamic range (HDR) lighting can be compiled.)

Yes, it has multiple lights.

Then, with my very limited knowledge of Hammer, I don't know what might be wrong.

It finishes but sometimes says VMPI running in SDK mode but incorrect SDK install detected (error 2)

mpi is the network distributed compile. it shouldn't work and not be used. in case it's enabled, the switch to disable it in the expert compile option. remove -mpi from the $light commandline in case it is there.

alright, will that fix the hdr lighintg as well?

It should atleast make sure the light compile always works and should complete.

Removing the mpi from the light still has the error come up. Is there another way to disable it?

i'm not sure if vvis is capable of networked compile. in case there is an mpi command in the $vvis commandline, remove that too. far from that i have no clue. i never had issues with vmpi.

i might wanna ask tho which hammer you're using? the sfm or tf2 one?

doing that fixes the error but it still says no hdr lighitng

so... you use the expert mode to fix the commandline now? well then you gotta select a configuration in the top left dropdown. with defaults the one that says both, iirc. you don't need the final one.

or for sfm, which doesn't need ldr you could also put
-bounce 5 -hdr -game $gamedir $path\$file
into the $light exe parameters textbox. that compiles only the hdr.

I put it in and it still comes up with no hdr lighting.

you could try to delete the bin folder and verify to get a fresh config. if that doesn't work i'm out of fixes. i dunno wtf your hammer spazzes. can you upload the vmf? ima try to compile it myself.
